He kind of is. He just uses technology to create and mix sounds instead of relying exclusively on real instruments and classic music notation. Composing the traditional way is very limiting when you think about it.

Seriously I can’t stand that everyone in these comments is crediting Kanye with making this when the credits are easily and readily available. He literally had nothing to do with the 4:44 album whatsoever. Reminds me of when I did “40 Emcees” for Amanda Diva and a bunch of people started crediting q-tip for the production simply because he was on the hook. He didn’t even write that part it was done and then we got his vocals after. It makes you not want to bother making music too much ignorance the messages are often going waaaaay over the heads of the majority of listeners 🤦♂️ Kanye is definitely a tastemaker and trendsetter for folks who can’t think for themselves, I think that genius title is a bit of a stretch there’s more theft in sampling than creating unless You’re sampling yourself that’s just facts.
