My mom also past at a young age. I was 15 and she was 56. Thank you for this, Kanye! Especially for doing this publicly for us, because I know you didn't have to. This is not only healing, inspiring, funny and cute but it almost also seems to allow me to keep grieving in a healthy yet powerful way. May peace be with entire West+Kardashian family and everyone reading this. Our Fathers and Mothers are still with us forever
“I asked God to stop feeling pain, and he took my mom away - after that, nothing is painful anymore.” EDIT: Since some of you guys missed the point, this is a direct quote from Kanye West when he was on JRE. He's not blaming God for his.mothers death. Go watch the clip and understand before you say something ignorant.
Isaiah 66:13 “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” Kanye's love for his mother and Jesus gives him this exceptional strength in everything he do.
I mean, he could've dropped bars like normal and commercial songs that would play on the radio and clubs for weeks, but he instead chose a controversial and meaningful album that wont make nearly as much as money as an oldschool Kanyr album would. So not really
Lyrics : Forever, yeah Can you hear me? Yeah Forever, yeah Forever, forever, no Oh yeah, glory, glory, glory Glory, glory, glory, glory It feels good to be home And to all of you, I thank you so much for your support For your support of me for so many years And more importantly, for the work you continue to do What do you want me to talk about? Well, he said something that was a little bit dangerous He told me I could talk about anything I wanted to And you know, I am my son's mother The man I describe in the introduction as being so decidedly different My son (When you're runnin' outta timе and you're not outta time) And what made thе project extra special to me is I got a chance to share not only what he has meant to me But what he has meant to a generation (Chase the time) As one writer said, we came from somewhere Not just from the wombs of our mothers and the seeds of our fathers But from a long line of generations who came before us It's the kingdom (Is the kingdom) And the power (And the power) And the glory (And the glory) Forever (Forever) It's the kingdom (Is the kingdom) And the power (And the power) And the glory (And the glory) Forever (Forever) Forever, yeah Forever, yeah Forever, forever, no Oh yeah, glory, glory, glory What did I teach him? (Glory) And why Kanye ain't scared?
Idk why this gives me the chills. The piano is so eerie and sets the mood. And the auto tuned Kanye vocals make it even spookier. Such an amazing soundscape he creates.
@@ladylucifer8088 if someone does a poo and says it’s in honour of their mother, I’m not gonna respect it, so I’m not gonna respect this garbage or the idiots who think he has any talent
@@JohnDoe-yq9rt Whether you like the album or not is your opinion, but saying that Kanye West has no talent isn't an opinion, it's just objectively wrong. Idc if you don't like the album or not, but stop saying stupid shit like this.
I think this is so beautiful bc if all the moms and dads could've empower, encourage and love their children how Donda did do Kanye, we would all be able to do great things in this world. A lot of us live in mediocrity because of how we were treated during childhood.
Lyrics [Intro: Kanye West with Stalone] Forever, yeah Can you hear me? Yeah Forever, yeah Forever, forever, no Oh yeah, glory, glory, glory Glory, glory, glory, glory [Spoken Word: Donda West, Kanye West, Kanye West & Stalone] It feels good to be home And to all of you, I thank you so much for your support For your support of me for so many years And more importantly, for the work you continue to do What do you want me to talk about? Well, he said something that was a little bit dangerous He told me I could talk about anything I wanted to And you know, I am my son's mother The man I describe in the introduction as being so decidedly different My son (When you're runnin' outta timе and you're not outta time) And what made thе project extra special to me is I got a chance to share not only what he has meant to me But what he has meant to a generation (Change the time) As one writer said, we came from somewhere Not just from the wombs of our mothers and the seeds of our fathers But from a long line of generations who came before us [Chorus: The World Famous Tony Williams & Sunday Service Choir] It's the kingdom (It's the kingdom) And the power (And the power) And the glory (And the glory) Forever (Forever) It's the kingdom (It's the kingdom) And the power (And the power) And the glory (And the glory) Forever (Forever) [Outro: Kanye West & Stalone, Donda West] Forever, yeah Forever, yeah Forever, forever, no Oh yeah, glory, glory, glory What did I teach him? I'd rather deal with the shame than take the weight of the lie Every time we talk I just wait for the lies Every time I get the food, I just wait for the flies Look, just send your prayers up, they'll be waitin' in the skies My, my, my, Miss American Pie Was a hero after Katrina but that levee went dry Mom met my dad back in '75 Two years later, the chosen has arrived Holy, Holy, Holy Father Hold me in an ocean worth of Holy Water And David's slingshot, hope it throws you farther You brought church to stadiums built for only soccer When the world built on lies, the truth is a threat Faith over the fortune, it kept you outta debt It's snakes in money pits that you ain't found yet Crooks behind the scene like, "He ain't drown yet?" Rain bills from the ranch 'til the whole town wet God's grace rains down, that's the holy fountain Got twelve thousand acres full of holy mountains See, you almost didn't make it, who are you without Him? Holy, Holy, Holy Father, hold me in a ocean the size of Holy Water Man, if plan A worked, you wouldn't know your daughter For every tear you cried in South Carolina
I'm so happy that Kanye is back and listening to this song actually put me in tears 😭😭 and you can tell how close Kanye and his mother was and you know how much he loved his mother Donda and when his mother died that was the hardest day as his life but I know he knew that his fans were behind him and may his blessed mother Donda may she rest in peace in the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ and I know she's looking down on Kayne and sending him blessings every single day 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤗🤗❤️
This means so much to me. I cry all the time listening to this. I listen 15 times in a row every time I click on this. A mother's unconditional love for her son. Even when we DIE we don't stop loving our children.
Lil unfortunate that he cut his verse off which he did during the live shows, same for “Never abandon your family”. But it’s aight still best album of the year. It’s all love ❤️🔥
This album is really special to me. Today, the day the album released I celebrated my 18th birthday. But more importantly this is an album about Kanye’s mom, someone clearly so important to him, and my mom is someone so important to me. Recently she’s been diagnosed with CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) she’s extremely weak right now and is almost bed ridden, so in a way this feels like an album for my mom too. Edit: so I came back here after this blew up and I wanted to say thanks for all the support, and to everyone saying the album sucks I completely respect your opinion but I think it’s amazing. Not trying to start anything just wanted to address it.
No disrespect to her mom, i hope she gets better. But Donda is one of the worst albums i’ve ever heard. There’s literally one good song on it, Believe What I Say. Kanye could put out any kind of garbage at this point and people will say it’s experimental and genius. The only song i like is believe what i say, the album is horrible. Can’t wait until Kendrick drops his nem album, hip hop needs it.
Ik its so obvious none of them ever listened to an album as a whole and just only listen to generic trap rap singles. None of them know what an interlude is and can't process any lyrics that aren't about sex and violence
Figured I'd share this story thinking some of you will appreciate it... Years ago I went to the X-games right outside Austin, TX at the F1 track... On Saturday Mac Miller opened up for Kanye West on the main stage... TBH I was never a die hard fan of Kanye's music but seeing him perform live really opened my eyes to what a performer he is. First and foremost I want to say Mac Miller killed it and I'll never forget that show (RIP)... The Kanye performance was one of the craziest shows I've ever been to... I've been to some big festivals but I've never seen people go so crazy trying to get a spot where they could get a decent glimpse of the artist (Kanye). The security were completely overrun and there were people literally climbing on bleachers and anything else they could just to see the stage. Despite not even being a big fan of Kanye's music, I will never forget that show.
This brings me to tears every time. How awesome is it that he has this audio of his mom, just praising him. I am also my sons mother 💜 and I pray when he gets old and grey he remembers the bond we have. 💜 RIP DONDA WEST
i've cried so much listening to this song 😢😢😢 somehow it seems like i can feel his grief and how he misses her... it's beautifully sad... RIP Donda 🙏🏻💙
I respect those individuals who respect their mothers, so much respect for you Kanye,She would have loved to hear this masterpiece from you today.May her soul continuously rest in eternal peace🙏❤️
@nieooj gotoy all i said was "Rip kanyes mom" Thats not ignorant at all, Im just sad for him, I never said he blamed God for his mothers death, Your the type of people to get mad at someone for eating a banana. Stop getting mad at people and stop calling people ignorant for no reason whatsoever.
This doesn't sound like a song, the best I can describe it is its more of a eulogy, which is fine but it should be at the start or the end of the album to give the greatest effect.
I feel so bad for him losing his mother, moms are awesome and go through lots of pain for us, we take having them close to us for granted, but please love your moms bcuz the day will come when they're not w us nomo and we're gonna get to the point were we would give anything to have only a couple more seconds w our beautiful mothers.
If this don't make you wanna tear up, idk what's wrong with yah.. I knew kanye had cry making this song.. very special, and touching, made me think of my own life, and family, rip ms Donda 🙏 💔💔
one person can not change the world...besides, i hear he is building a school in Chicago and Wyoming!maybe if you try and speak to your president about the homeless he can assist on that part and many other celebrities can pitch in.
To all the real mothers who nurtured a generation when the family loses you to death the whole generation suffers for decades and the trauma is devastating it leaves a whole in heart for eternity... 🏴 RIP mommy
I've always loved Kanye I grown up to his music I don't judge him for anything bad that he has done I just love that his music is always fire and beautiful
At first I was laughing cause he kind of sounded like he was trying too hard with the way his autotune was. But then he started speaking absolute POWER. This is real stuff man
