Masterpiece. 90% of the crowd didn’t even realize they were in the presence of such a perfect concoction of musical geniuses. This is timeless art right here. And it sucks but I don’t think we’ll ever get anything close to this again.
What really hit me the most is the passing of his mother.. I feel like he never truly beard nor released that pain. He kept neglecting it by working hard and staying consistent with his music.
Get real! That was a garbage rendition of Through the Fire! Play the video for anyone without showing them or telling them who’s singing and they’ll tell you exactly what they think of it. Just because it’s John Legend doesn’t automatically make it “legendary” or “epic”! Chaka Khan would slap the taste out of your mouth for that 💩 take. 😂
I’m telling you this man can sit with the Mercury’s, the Bowie’s, the MJ’s the Beatles etc.. No rapper had more impact on global culture than Kanye West.
@@Kureiji-jy3cb into borrrnana Not saying that Kanye isn't in the same vein but i don't think we've ever seen any hip-hop artist in the same league as Em. (both culturally and sales wise) Plus whenever people think of rap, they usually think of/or listen to him. And while i get that Kanye is universally loved, i feel like he can be a bit too cocky for people's tastes also.
Huh? Who’s mental health? If you talking about Kanye he’s still way smarter than most. He doesn’t subscribe to the mainstream nonsense/narrative. To you that means his mental health has been compromised in some way? That’s an insane thought if so.
After the Netflix documentary, I think I fell in love with this guy's personality tbh. He is driven, resilient, and very hard-working. He has a good soul. I loved the scenes with his beautiful mummy. God bless her!
People are saying that they miss his old music but truth is, if he didn't reinvent himself with each album no one would be as half as interested as they are about his music today.BUT I must admit that this song is a masterpiece and could not be compared to any songs on Yeezus :)
@@martindagoat3909 'Only One' is a beautiful and touching ode to family. 'Black Skinhead' is straight fire. 'Hold My Liquor' is really ambitious in its effort to meld rock, house and rap into a single coherent aesthetic, and does so in a confident and skilled way. Must I go on? Yeezus is top-tier.
I have never heard a song give off the heart, soul and energy that Kanye gives off on Through The Wire. The man is a Jedi, one of the greatest artists of all time.
It’s easy to see this in 2022-23 & discredit its importance but remember this was the early 00s and NO ONE was making hip-hop like this. Rapping, style or production. He was on another level
I'll never forget the first time I heard this song. I was 15 and just got home from JV bball practice. I put on MTV and this video came on. It had just been released. First single. Idk what it was, it was just DIFFERENT and it struck a chord. I still listen to it all the time and it takes me back. The best music does that, right? Then I bought College Dropout, still one of my favorite albums of all time. I literally wore that CD out! I really miss old Kanye West. He was real.
The reason Kanye is so loved is cause he was our everyman...not a thug, drug dealer or hustler. He was one of us with mega passion. Anyone with drive and willing to risk it all for a dream is Kanye. This is the reason why he is so inspirational and why he influenced artist such as Drake. You don't have to fit into a stereotypical category to be a hiphop artist or anything...you just need drive and unlimited fuel to create your own lane.
Kanye West is LEGENDARY. Those who haven't followed his works and achievements since the very start wouldn't know how big he is. One of the most underated artists of all time.
I really don't know why this is my first time saying this out loud, but I am 35, and for my generation, Kanye West is hands down the best performer, easily.
I hate when people say “I miss the Kanye” or “I wish Kanye was still like this.” Don’t wish for the past, just be happy you were the experience it. Kanye is my idol now just like he was back then. We all do dumb things. You gotta love this man. Genius!
Now i admit when this album first came out i bootlegged it but i realized how real his music is and straightened up and bought Late Registration and Graduation. Later on to buy College Dropout again, just cause its that good!!!! XD
Always come back to this video . Love Kanye and of course legendary Miri Ben ari , my inspiration , and she stay killing it on the violin . Makes me smile ear to ear watching this 🔥🔥
HE CHANGED SO MUCH SINCE HE DROPPED THIS TO BE HONEST I LIKE THIS BETTER THIS WAS HIS EARLY AND REALER PART OF HIS PERSONALITY AND CREATIVITY..NOTHING WAS WATERED DOWN ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE MUCH RESPECT.
Santos ortiz no one says that kanye can't spit, we just acknowledge that when he says he says he's a genius it's referring to himself as a producer and DEFINITELY NOT as an mc. Don't get me wrong he can rap, but he's not even top 20 no matter how you see it
I miss this era. This Kanye. This music. This moment in time. Who I was. What I had infront of me. All that. I guess artist or people like him get larger then life and they get to a more evolved version of self. We all evolve. Change. But for these people like Kanye or whomever that have 180’ed. I see where they get lost. Us average people still grinding out the ray race still take these songs and it puts us right back cause we aren’t far from that spot. No matter what you may think. We are just older. I remember when I first heard this song. Saw this video on rap city after work. Just living pay check to paycheck. Trying to get to the next weekend. What a time to be alive. What a time to live hip hop
