Kanye said it himself that the only reason his beats were as good as they were is because of being in the studio with Just Blaze all day for that period right before and after blueprint dropped. Blaze is such a good fucking producer, he made Kanye work even harder which set the tone for how The College Dropout would wind up sounding.

That beat originally was actually done by Evidence, and the version of it here is still Evidence's. On College Dropout, Ye had a live band recreate the sample and he redid the drums, but the melody and chops are still the same as Evidence's I believe.

The next few lines are hard to make out but the last one is not and it’s the most used part of the song “I'm from the murder capital, where we murder for capital” is clear, Kanye came up with it
