One of the greatest features of the new KAOSSILATOR PRO is its ability to record external audio, with or without effects, and loop it the same way you would with the internal sounds. This video will show you how it works!
@BassIsCool2005 It's two cables. The first is dual 1/4" male on the microKORG XL's outputs, to dual RCA male on the KOPro's inputs. The other is dual RCA male on the KOPro's outputs, connected to an offscreen mixer.
This demo goes to show you you don't need a lot of gear to make great music two or three pieces will do you just fine and with a good imagination the sky is the limit
MIDI misery MIDI compatibility was one of the main features we thought would improve the Kaossilator, so the arrival of MIDI ports on the Pro got us seriously excited. Unfortunately, it doesn't support standard note data. The X-Y coordinates are instead sent and received as CC values, meaning that if you want to play the internal synth instruments using a MIDI controller or DAW you'll need to find a way of converting notes to CC.
@lullaby666 The later programs in the miniKP (the ones that are working for you) are synthesizer programs, and they are the only ones that actually create sounds. The rest of the programs in the miniKP are effect processors, not sounds unto themselves, and they require audio coming into the miniKP's inputs in order to be heard.
@peasant2general- Thanks! There are several vocoder programs, which use different voicing and chord structures. There are also several other input effects, such as a pitch shifter, grain shifter, and filter. These can all be recorded onto the Loop Banks the same way you see in this video.
@aronsoul Yes, you can record directly into the Loop Recorder Banks right from an iPod. Just get yourself an 1/8" to dual RCA cable, connect to the KOPro's line inputs, press REC, choose a Loop Recorder Bank, and you're all set.
great, what you did with only one loop! (why in earth has korg limited this to 16beats...). Q: you said in external record mode the kpro does not listen to internal sounds... would it be possible to input the kpro lineout to the linein in order to join e.g. loop A and B into bank C? or would it only end in horrible feedback?
I have two questions I hope you could answer since I'm abandoning my Digitech JamMan stereo for either the Pro or KP3 (watching Phantogram do their thing with the KP3 has been very educational, and very inspiring) - 1. Can the drum sounds loaded in the Pro be separately played, or are the drum samples whole patterns? Can you play just the snare/hi-hat etc from a certain kit pattern, or is it all or nothing? 2. Can you undo overdubs after stacking them in a given loop bank? Thanks in advance!
@Romndragon Just to make sure, you need to be touching the pad while talking into the mic. Also make sure you're using the correct impedence adapter for the microphone, make sure the mic doesn't require phantom power, and check the input level on the front of the KOPro.
I have a problem with the vocoder, I plugged in my mic into the jack but the vocoder isn't working. I can hear the static from the mic but my voice or effects are not working. Is there a way to fix this? Please comment.
@KorgUSAVideos i have a microkorg and a KOPRO with a midi-to-midi usb cable and cant find a way to connect the two. im gonna be getting the 1/4'' to RCA cables, but do i need a mixer for all of this to work? Any help is appreciated.

Excellent, with the Record button I can loop saxophone without taking my hands off the sax. So it cab really be a 4 track looper, with overdubs too. Excellent. 3 days to delivery.
I cant seem To record anything useing a microphone, is there something wrong with my machine, I have it on mic input, mic plugged in, and I get no noise from microphone, into system. No matter how I twist trim jobs and volume.

I have recorded some sounds from the Kaossilator Pro to my Kaoss Pad 3. Works great and the volumelevel stays the same. Now if i play back the same sound (tested without any effects) from the Kaoss Pad 3 to the Kaossilator Pro, the volume is like 4db lower on the Kaossilator Pro as it was originaly. How could this be? Is my Kaossilator Pro broken?

I'm looking for a sampler for recording and playing back loops from different synth and drum units, which would be more appropriate, Kaossilator Pro+, Electribe 2 Sampler, or something else?
I wish it showed the first click of a loop somehow. Like the tap button flash could change color for the first clickt of the loop every time or something.
Ok this has been driving me insane and all google results aren't helping. Here's my question: At 04:00 you record audio into the Kaossilator using a microphone, all-the-while moving your finger on the KP. Whenever I record audio input using a mic it simply records it 'clean'. How did you add the effects??? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
so much untapped potential. Someone in their 'retro' department, should look at releasing a firmware to address its midi quirks and improve the speed of the sd card. Or release the software source to the public domain for dedicated fans to update themselves.

Should we be making you a video on how to update USB-drivers? Maybe you wouldnt be taking 3+ months to get it done then... It's getting rather bothersome to wait and wait for the gear i've payed good money for to actually work as it's supposed. im looking for a multitrack looper to loop Bass guitar, electric guitar and a microkorg all at the same time (with the ability to fade in and out on each track). Does anyone know how to do this on the kaossilator pro or if there are better options out there for this? Thanks!
The Kaoscillator Pro can't bounce from bank to bank, but surely, if we recorded a loop across three of the banks, we could spit that out of the KaosPro's Line Out, and back INTO it's Line In, in order to bounce the first three banks down to bank D?
how do you stop a rec phrase loop timing with out shutting the rec loop button off,, but rather by bar length !!! I can figure this out for the life of me!!! any one knw!! thnx guys.
Chris Sglimbea reason for this is bc if you want to change the loops keys nd bar length to go to a chorus lets say,, its not possible unless u manualy shut off the loop rec button
