I speak English BUT... what kind of English is this? I could NOT understand what she says! It sounds like a different language! == (gilberto lehrer from brazil)
@@phyromhuy7505 I've signed my comment, it says "gilberto lehrer from brazil"... Brazil, South America, is where I live, it's my country, my native language is Portuguese. I know a lot about U.S. culture and American English accents (I'm a high school teacher of English), but not everything. Hawaiian idioms and slang are a little bit incomprehensible to me. If I ever visit Hawaii, I'll be in trouble, I guess, right?
gil lehrer it's a dialect of English not a separate language completely. People generally all know "normal" English too. But Hawaii has a ton of different ethnicities and languages from the US mainland / military, native Hawaiians, other Polynesians, and people from Japan, China, and southeast Asia. People used to get between the different islands in smallish boats by memorizing the winds, water currents, alignment of stars in the northern and southern hemispheres. You can read books about celestial navigation in the Pacific if you want to learn something super interesting about the history.
LOL I remember Lee Catalunas last broadcast.... She let her pidgin rip.... I never laugh so much cuz the titah probably had the HAOLES scratching their heads cuz no can understand outer island gurl slang... Sum good she wuz.... Chee huu FTH ......
