I had one of these machines back in the day. The first year for the 350 S2 Had a drum front brake and unfortunately it had a four main bearing crankshaft. Because of the four main bearings instead of six which came on all the later 350 triples, the crankshaft would flex. Because it flexed it would pinch the thrust washers on the drive side of the crankshaft, badly discoloring the connecting rod at the lower end.. The machine to get is the 73 Kawasaki S2 with the disc brake in the front, and the six main bearing crankshaft. I was just getting into club Road racing in 1973, and there were many Kawasaki triple’s at the tracks.. The only problem with racing the Kawasaki triples was, the motors were so wide that they could not survive a crash. It would damage the cases, break off the oil pump, or damage the crankshaft. I ended up racing RDs because you could toss them down the road all day, and never damage the engine because they were narrow...That was a pity because I loved the sound of those Kawasaki triples revving past 11,000 RPM. The RDs only reved to about 8700.. both machines were very easy to ride fast and I think the Kawasaki handled just as well as the RD. But in the end, the RD was the king of the race tracks back then. Only because the Kawasaki’s could not survive a good crash.
Not 100% original. Air filter is not there. Beautiful bike anyway... Should be compensated on the main jets. She is not running as well as she could. Greetings from Brazil.
Ken - on my view there are 8 bikes for sale on the first page and the second page shows 5 bikes (total of 13) but this Kawasaki S2 isn't showing....can you double check on your end?
love the 2 stroke street bikes but cant help think how many are blown u because of people thinking the can ride them for long periods of time without melting down the engine its not a goldwing folk
I have this bike, but better, all original ,showroom , second owner with 3000 miles, candy apple red , no rust inside, the tank. Original bore. Owned for 20 years
They all are written up as time (labor @$90 per hour) and materials and parts . It is what it is, if you dont like it, you can always do it yourself ...
It's all good, digging your channel. That video of the kz1100 brought back many memories. I had a '81 kz1100 shaftdrive. Wasn't stock but unfortunately had my Big accident with it. Rehab and non weight bearing for 4 months. Whew. My only bike right now is a showroom condition 2006 crf450r. :)
