Kara is consistently witty and truthful. Confidently blunt, yes, exactly the reasons why I admire her. Those also are the reasons why some don’t like her. 😂 I like her humanity.

I am ALWAYS smarter than I was an hour earlier after spending time listening to @karaswhisher on her podcast "On With Kara Swisher" or "Pivot" with Kara and @profgalloway. You absolutely do NOT have to be a techie to enjoy the episodes because they cover a lot of different topics and big players from all industries. She is brilliant, funny, irreverent, warm, informed and the smartest person in any room. She's incredibly engaging. Highly recommend checking her out if you're not already listening to her highly successful podcasts. Looking forward to reading the book!!

I've learned never to trust a journalist. Whenever I see a journalist like Swisher, I think of a scorpion and the frog story. A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion might sting it, but the scorpion promises not to, pointing out that it would drown if it killed the frog in the middle of the river. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both. The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung despite knowing the consequence, to which the scorpion replies: "I am sorry, but I couldn't resist the urge. It's my character." And thus Kara Swisher who pretended to be friends with a lot of people in tech, ended up writing a nasty book about them. It was in her nature as a scorpion, err...I mean journalist.

What has Kara achieved compared with Elon? 4 kinds of people. Those who make it happen. Those who watch it happen. Those who don't know what's happening. And non-acheivers who find fault with achievers.

Elon is for sure the most disappointing. Many of us, like Kara, thought he was this tech genius CEO who cared about the environment, and was doing it to better society. I never thought he would end up being this petty extreme right wing person, who cares more about making a buck than people dying.

She tries very hard to be deep. She rides off the AOL reporting in '96, while Zuckerberg is creating communication tools and elon is creating commutes to other planets, Kara is crying on podcasts.
