The United States Bicentennial (1976) included 9 performances of the Berlin Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan in New York City, Washington and Chicago. This film excerpt is from a rehearsal of Schönberg's Verklärte Nacht, recorded somewhere in Manhattan. It looks like an underground parking garage. At the end of this film, there was a brief discussion between Karajan and his concertmaster Michel Schwalbé.
