Unpopular opinion. I like his films and him. He has always been kind to people even when they are mean to his face. And also nepotism exist but talent stays. We as an audience have rejected so many star kids. Arjun kapoor and uday chopra to name a few.. and he single handedly doesnt owe outsiders anything. Its his money , his time and his effort that he put into his own films. So he can launch whoever he wants to. And as for kangana i believe she is right in the matter that yes the mafia world does exist. But we are wrong for hating the insiders just coz they are insiders. People are hating on ranbir kapoor and alia bhatt who are my favorite. I believe they are talented actors. And we dont get to choose our parents at the time of our birth do we now ?

Did anyone note when he praised Kangana? But he is right in places like playing women card or victim card. It has become a fashion these days if you play this card you can get away with anything. No one is a saint, everyone is trying to look after themselves first. Even kangana is politically backed that's why she's talking so openly all the time.
He launched so many starkids... jhanvi has 7 films with karan johar after giving worst performance in dhadak... What about ananya pandey and many other starkids...karan was about to launch 2 more star kids one is jhanvi sister and other is sanjay kapoor daughter...

They signed her for two projects only after Dhadak become a hit in 2018..Gunjan Saxena and Dostana2 both with new directors who are outsiders. . I don't think they would have invested money on her if Dhadak was a flop..Janhvi got third film Roohi Afzana from another producer and again its a new director who is one movie old- Kaamyaab.. What he said about star kids getting attention initially which is good for the film. That was on point.... I mean the audience is definitely more interested if it's a star's son or daughter. But, that's part of the problem.

Don't see much wrong in Karan's statement here. Infact Kangana lied in the interview. All he said was "leave it!". She made it sound derogatory ("He said Get Out!"). All he is saying is that he does not want to work with Kangana. Seems pretty reasonable to me!
She always did this by manipulating other's statements. About alia bhatt choosing SSR for KILL option for a mere game, kangna ranaut said that alia bhatt says ssr should be killed. There are a lot of things about you that I personally find inspiring. Don't know what you actually do in terms of interacting with other actors and your choice of actors in your films but I really appreciate your being so open in your interviews and your book. It is nice to listen to your interviews and I personally do not think you did not cut out kangana's part of your interview on your show because you were "afraid".

It's Black and White - Mr. Johar confesses to practising nepotism, asserting that it comes "organically". Therefore, when Kangana Ranaut says that loud & clear, do not fret and fume, or, condescendingly say that you're glad she knows what "flag bearer of nepotism" means, or, she should leave and do something else. Why would she leave - she is an acting juggernaut and a flourishing creative artist. Besides, it isn't about playing the Woman or Victim Card - hers is a unique success story (read hers) and she can share that as many times as she wants to. You can't tell anyone to let go of their experiences, their thoughts/observations, their journey - simply because it's theirs (and none of your business). I'm a huge Bollywood fan; and even an avid consumer of Johar's brand of cinema; but the likes of him cannot conceal what's shoddy about the ecosystem in their flowery and bombastic language!
The same way no one can ask Kangana Ranaut to not change her thought process and prevent her from speaking her mind, no one can and should ask Karan Johar to work with someone he does not wants to work with. It's his production house. He has every right to decide whether he wants to cast someone he knows or a new face! Moreover, Ranveer's grandmother was a famous actress of her time in Punjabi films. He was NOT an outsider. I always thought why his real last name "Bhavnani" was taken out- it wasn't so that it made his name longer, but people would easily identify him being a relative of Sonam Kapoor and Chand Burke. Now how would YashRaj films take credit for launching a 'very' talented "outsider" with that?. He was very much an insider fooling us all by portraying himself as an outsider. That's so low. He has gained the most from Sushant Singh Rajput being cornered. Why would YashRaj not allow SSR to do Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani but let Ranveer do them when both had the same contracts? FAVORITISM, because Ranveer is an insider while Sushant wasn't.

@s Y Karan Johar is considered to as the apex mainstream filmmaker in bollywood , for years on end , it hasn't changed much over time even though directors like Zoya Akhtar and have tried to take the mark up a notch higher , there are very few doing the same . If you look at world cinema he is no Steven Spielberg or Bong joon ho whereas Karan Johar establishes himself in the same way when it comes to bollywood mainstream movies ( he's not even in the ranks of Rajkumar Hirani so ..) ! Making money doesn't doesn't mean higher quality of cinema , most international and Indian critics don't take him seriously in his preferential mainstream-ness , which mostly revolves around lazy stories , melodrama and overly illogical characters . My Name is Khan is the only movie worthy of a " well made " claim , but definitely not mind-blowing for a director his stature . And I hope you meant Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt , because Shraddha Kapoor is definitely a failed product of nepotism just surviving on her family name . Look at other industries in this country , if you haven't please look at gems out of the Malayalam film industry where content meet entertainment , you'll find truly brilliant masterpieces among mainstream movies . R Rahman , extremely talented gems sidelined by Bollywood .
