It’s been 6 months nothing has changed :/ No Judo, No Boxing, No Kickboxing And Dojo shutting down and moving. No Karate and idek about situation with that. Why Covid ....
@@Croopzy facts fuck covid I joined a gym that has karate almost 6 months ago and I'm soon to be getting my second belt, I was disappointed to see that they're prohibiting sparring
Yea,most people watch those competitions and form an opinion of karate, truth is ,if you can find yourself a good class with an amazing sensei, it really can be an amazing martial art that truly works, both in sport and real life self defense
They are good fighters but they’ll never get any better if you keep doing point sparring. You need to do continuous sparring like in a real life situation, point sparring just encourages crappy punches to the stomach like the black belt was doing, or other quick unpredictable things that make you open up and vulnerable
Agreed, at the end around 4:40-4:50 mark he throws a kick that leaves his back side completely open and vulnerable, if this were a more mma style fight where you fought continuously and not on points you bet that i would've grabbed his back and brought him to the ground to go for a choke. They have good kicks but they have shitty strategies and techniques. They leave themselves open and barely protect themselves because they're too focused on tapping the others stomach for an easy point
@@bettyswollocks5981 maybe good for competitions that take the fight out of karate. Continuous sparring is much better for combat training and will make them be able to defend themselves much better.
Bro they don't train for mma or a street brawl. They train for their ART. Not every martial art's purpose is making you into an unstopable fighting machine. They may implement certain kicks, punches, and overall fundamentals for self-defence or fighting. But, no single martial art, even boxing, is enough to prepare you for fighting or self-defence. There are classes for self-defence they may take or even train in mma in order to apply their karate in a more practical manner. Not even mma is enough for a real life unpredictable scenario. Nothing can truly prepare you for that since you cannot practice brutal self-defense on another person. There is a big difference between defending and counterattacking someone assaulting you with the element of surprise to gain the upper-hand in one out of thousands of ways, and both parties being prepared with your hands up to fight.
Serious question here, how you defend against the side or round kick? Seems like that is the most common, so I guess you have to be quick and try to step to the side of it to get inside, is that it?
@@tobeymaceda7827 if the kick isn't coming very fast, sure I can see that's possible, but with any kind of speed I don't see how you could grab it in a realistic situation, without also hitting your side.
They both look confident, which is important in self defense. I'm in a taekwondo mixed with jiu-jitsu class and I've only had to use it once and that was in high-school. I've been doing martial arts for 4 years but I'm taking a break to focus on college. I'd like to be a 3rd degree black belt at some point like Chuck Norris's son Dakota.
Point system in the Kumite is so stupid. It would be better of they apply more of MMA rules. So one could actually know how to learn and utlize Karate for actual Self Defense.
@@williamwest7008 well it depends, low level kickboxing is good but kyokoshin karate is definitely the best in my opinion, if you look up about it you might understand why I think that
@@zposhful but they are "sparring" and then stopping whenever someone gets a point. That's not my really idea of sparring. That's practicing for point based competitions, which in my opinion is a big part of what's wrong with karate today.
@@karatekaabir6299 Whaat..? You Fool..?! Ouch thats problem bro.. I Always see People practicing Wkf in Real fight.. Losss.. When they Fight with Kyokushin and muay thai 😌👍
@@karatekaabir6299 and.. 3 weeks ago Every people who practicing wkf in my Country Loss in Competition when People JKA join to Competition with them 👍😌
JKA Is had The Same Sport And Point Kumite However In WKF Sport Kumite You Need Gloves, Shinguards, Body Protector Etc. While In JKA Sport Kumite They Fight With their Barehands Without Any Protection so Its Literally The Same Sport Kumite Except that They Doesnt Have Any Protection
Taekwondo is a massive joke. I train in Tang So Do (Korean karate). I ,as a 15yr 3rd degree black belt do, a ton of tournaments w/ taekwondo people in my rank and they all suck ngl karate is way more aggressive then people think so they can't use it to its full potential
