"that's very frowned upon" 😂😂😂 I love KC but I think it would be awesome to allow thigh kicks, it's something found in a lot of karate especially in Kyokushin

I wasn´t aware that thigh kicks aren´t allowed, thats a bit disapointing, they have to introduce thigh kicks. Till now i like the rule system very much, with low kicks it would be awesome!
@Night-Jester
@Night-Jester Год назад
Thigh kicks are awesome but I guess then it would just become more like a normal kickboxing match. Thigh kicks would probably be used a lot and change the whole dynamic. These rules really help force them to fight a certain way. Just my 2 cents.

Karate combat took out the most important kicks in Kyokushin karate the inside and out side kicks to the thighs. The reason given because they don't have that in the Olympic karate. Seems like rules are favorable to a certain type of karate. The irony is to have two Kyokushin Karateka as the host for the show.
@hiranom20
@hiranom20 Месяц назад
I'll never understand why it still appears that they're favourable to WKF-style fighters. To me, this would suit full-contact karateka. It should be opened to competitors of all karate backgrounds.

Only_Karate_Kicks_Allowed ❤❤ Hi folks ! I am a Martial Arts enthusiast . Just an Amateur Karate guy , who learned Karate mainly from a book ! ❤ ❤ Yet, I think , I made an influential speech relating to Karate, as I saw a Karate competition advertised with an interesting phrase : "Only Karate kicks are allowed" At first, I thought this might be a bad idea, and possibly make the Tournament a little boring . But then , I was watching some other Kickboxing and I noticed how dangerous a kick could be, if not performed in a certain way. Of course in Karate sparring (don't ask , how I know this ). Generally it's proper technique to always point the toes, when delivering a kick. Particularly, if you know what a Roundhouse is ? The kick , that is most like a Boxer's Hook. Perhaps targeting the thigh, more recently the calf . With maybe a Superstar , able to target the head with a Roundhouse. A powerful kick used very commonly in Thai Boxing. In a karate demonstration often, it's light contact, not full contact. The toes are always pointed when the kick makes contact which is great as it reduces the chances of injuries. This, I remember thinking might give, an organisation a financial edge. As, there's not going to be spine injuries or neck injuries. With less injuries, hopefully it's cheaper to stage the show. Yet, it might work against the organisation if, a more brutal club. Allows the athletes more freedom to experiment as, income from spectators might br less. With a safer game. Athletes may perform for free as volunteers. Insurance should be less. But it doesn't always work like that ! The only problem is, it might take away, the Martial Artist freedom of expression a little. Plus, it might be a little more boring for spectators who are mainly. Not going to know about the rules exactly. They will probably not read The Rules and pick up The Rules from watching the games . Of course they may try to copy, and their is a risk of pollution here, with a more violent society and the possibility of injuries. People might feel compelled unnecessarily to have to learn Karate. As everyone is doing it ! Including the mean thugs. Trying to bully people for their Dinner Money ! 😊🎉

I'm a Kyokushin practitioner too, and I like calf kick as well, even though it is forbidden in most of Kyokushin fighting. I found that most thigh kick, especially to the inside part of the thigh, will eventually hit the groin as well. So I agree to reduce this chance by utilizing calf kick rather than thigh kick.

Those knee rules are weird tho, let people knee in the clinch or it makes no sense.
@justsomebird4285
@justsomebird4285 Год назад
They can, they just dont allow it when you pull people into the knees. I think it’s to discourage clinching for the sake of clinching and not using strikes/throws in the clinch as a necessity or primary goal when close to the opponent. A lot of spectators, especially casual ones, don’t like seeing people clinch and “hug” each other.
@Cryttanz
@Cryttanz Год назад
@@justsomebird4285 Yes I think so too, but when you have your opponent in the clinch pulling them in to the knee is such a natural action it's hard to not do it. People will keep doing it and get warned instead. Theoretically it might sound good but in practice it doesn't work.

@@Cryttanz gabriel varga in his last fight demonstrated framing off and kneeing as he pushed his opponent out of the clinch. it adds its own layer of strategy which i enjoy, and i think it just takes practice. varga did his homework and it worked out for him
