”Karate has no philosophy. Some people think that the tradition of Karate came from Zen, and Karate has a connection with the void, space and universe, but I don’t believe in that. My philosophy is to knock my opponent out with a single technique. One finishing blow!” - Mikio Yahara (former Japanese World Cup Champion, known for single-handedly defeating 34 local yakuza, knocking out a mobster with a gun, and turning up for a competition with a knife wound.)
Thank you so much Jesse for everything you've done for the Karate community. I would love to see you in Karate Combat sharing your expertise and your immense Karate knowledge!
You have 3 great seasons to catch up on. They could have easily just made it just another martial arts league that happens to focus on karate but thankfully they chose to get creative with it even though the competition is still real.
Good stoppage on Castaneda, before he got hurt, he wasn't engaging in the fight. After the uppercut, the wheel kick to the face was the icing on the cake. I use to watch Mr. Levine in sport karate, I am glad he came out on top. This was totally up my alley, I enjoyed this.
@@loganriki2625 gotta give him a chance though, people can rally back off of wobbly legs It's one thing if hes continously eating shots, and maybe that would've happened but he was still in it here I think these karate refs just dont understand what full contact is supposed to look like
The referee interview in the end was really good to have! Safety of fighters very well called, don't let unnecessary concussions happen. Sure sometimes tough fighters can bounce back, but more often they will only get brain damage and the fight ends with the same winner anyway.
Not sure I agree with the timing of the stoppage, but only a fool would suggest Igor could pull it back, he's a great fighter, but it wasn't his night...loving karate combat!
From Brazilian Senbukai Goju Ryu Dojo. I am thrilled to see an event with karate even though the majority of the fighters are from Shotokan or Kyokushin 😄
Man if I saw this 20 years ago when I started training Karate. This would have been the best thing. Instead I bought a worn VHS of pride fc. Mega respect Karate for life!
All of these fights were awesome. I am really looking forward to the next show. I hope this becomes bigger and grows to have more matches in a show, and of course more exposure.
I was so hyped about Levine vs De Castañeda, but that stoppage??? That was early as fuck. Maybe Levine was fighting better at that point, but the match wasn't over yet.
I think based on where the ref was standing, it could look like he was hit by the punch, then the kick and then him taking a moment on the wall could have looked like him not being able to defend anymore, once the big wheel kick came round and hit him, I can totally understand the ref thinking he was done, even though we can see as spectators from multiple angles that it probably should have continued.
Season 4 has the work the mission to be the Best of Best version of karate kombat in all times. Let's seu the pretty fight event. God Bless US in all things.
First vid (thanks Sensei Seth) and I have to say holy fuck this is amazing! IMO way better than UFC! Def not free of exaggerated calls by the ref though! That first fight shouldn't have been a TKO. He easily could have got his mouth guard and reset, he even wanted to. I'd also argue that he was intelligently defending himself well enough after the kick, assuming they were awaiting the reset. Hey, not my loss but I can feel for the guy, he looked pissed afterwards.
Sorry for my bad English. There is an error in the video description: "Season 3 while Gasanov - who often trains in Dagestan with Karate Combat's Myrza-Bek Tebuev - is making his debut for the organization." Myrza-Bek Tebuev and Gasanov, not from Dagestan, but from Kabardino-Balkaria.
I got mixed up in my comment and mistook who said what in the the post fight interviews. again Apologies to you Sthefanie and a brave hard fought debut, Jah Bless.
When 1 of the fighters approaches the clinch to the other, in theory, you can already safely throw, but the referee separates visual demonstration of karate weaknesses
Please add CENTIMETERS and KILOGRAMS for weight and height in addition to feet and lbs. These events are fought, watched and even hosted by people from all around the world. Not just USA and UK. It looks like this is the official Yt page for the organization, so, I hope our voices will be heard. Greetings from Turkey.
