There seemed to be more extraordinary talent around back in those days.A lot of really excellent fighters. It was nice to see Miles Draper as there doesn't seem to be much about him on RU-vid. They dressed better as well. The top part of the gi nowadays is too long.
The form Frank holds at all time even in those dynamic combos is unbelievable. Just the best to watch by far. I saw him, I think at a Crystal Palace tournament around 89.
In a real fight who expose the back after the hit, is a dead man. That is a disgusting bad habit. I hate it. One most to fight and stay facing the oponent all the time, no matter what. Fucking bad habit.
There were a whole load of these tapes from Kamae ... I've been looking for the one where Miles Draper does an ushiro mawashi geri on Jeff Thompson but haven't been able to find it anywhere ... There was also a tape from tournaments involving the KUGB around 1984 which I'd love to see again if anyone any of them...
I had the full lot of video's lent them to a man who passed away & I did not hear about his passing till much later & so lost the lot . Was gutted especially when my farther had told my sister to tell me & she forgot 😢 . Miles Draper was superb like a smaller version of Frank Brennan . Technically brilliant & superb at kata & kumite . His Ushiro -Mawashi was superb . There will be a clip on one of the video's where Miles Draper does a spin Ushiro -mawashi the technique is brilliant but unfortunately he made excessive contact & knocked the man out instantly. Thank you for mentioning his name his younger brother was brilliant too 😊😉👍
