People getting excited about the number of times Akimoto had his legs swept, dont know the rules. Throws, sweeps and trip are not allowed. Its kickboxing not Muay Thai.

But once he changed level starting the second round he was dropping his opponent endlessly timing the low kicks. His opponent though, made no adjustments, and he won't be so lucky in a rematch. Kickboxing came from Karate though. It was started by Karate guys who also trained in Muay Thai. The Chinese guy is obviously from Sanda, which is why he was always looking for a throw or sweep. In Sanda rules he would have destroyed the other guy, but with kickboxing rules the Karate guy has the advantage.

no feints, rarely any body punches. Just kicking legs, body and punching the head. High level professionals, but both look nervous and edgy. Both could be alot more creative mixing it up.
@zoroverse8358
@zoroverse8358 11 дней назад
What are you saying? Have you ever seen/trained any martial arts even remotely similar to kickboxing? There were absolutely feints, just not any over exaggerated ones used in amateur stuff, also it is harder to see from camera, as they feints are meant for the opponents and not the audience. Over exaggerating feints leaves you open for counters, works worse often when facing a high level opponent. You, no offense, obviously don’t know what you are talking about. For example 2:16 there were feints to set up the left knee, and immediately in the engagement after, akimoto feinted a cross, tough he got push kicked away after. Soon after that qiu feinted a teep before doing a punching combo.

@@nadnavlis240 I don't care how the scoring system works. If one fell on the floor so many times that should be seen as disadvantaged, this is especially true in a street brawl. In this Kickboxing match, the ref would stop the sweeper as soon as the other guy fall on the floor. In MMA, being on the floor will be a big disadvantage.
