I got bored and decided to piece together most of the music clips inside Karazhan. I used Fraps to record and windows movie maker to edit. Ambient sounds were also disabled while recording.
My wife sings at our local Catholic Church and was allowed to play the organ part on our pipe organ. It was so freaking awesome to hear that part blasted out on the organ, even our Music Minister was impressed.
Karazhan was just an amazing raid one thing i loved about it was that it was non-linear thats what makes raids like Ulduar and Karazhan awesome! Also i liked how it was just in the middle of nowhere
laber mich nicht zu I personally thought AQ40 was really fun. The encounters and the mounts to make the massive place more traversable was cool. Always took a long ass time to clear, but it was great, and that gate opening event was bloody incredible. And while you find AQ boring, I found Blackwing Lair boring. I hated all the Blackrock Mountain stuff. Eck. Just as my opinion is not fact, neither is yours.
I remember doing Karazhan for the first time with my guild, and how nervous and excited I was. The many hours on vent, talking about boss strats and laughing at jokes... So many great times, Kara will always be my favorite raid.
This is fucking awesome. The level of attention and detail they put into their game before selling themselves to activation is highly noticeable. The new raids have no aesthetic and no soul put into them. It feels as if their artists do their job without ambition and only for the money... ...i don't blame them though, i wouldn't feel for working at activation either, knowing that their ulterior motive is monetary gain.
I think Ulduar is the best raid in terms of bosses mechanics, the atmosphere were great too. But come on, you can only describe Karazhan with one word: epic. Such a nice and beutiful music, the story behind all, the feeling that you were going deeper and deeper into a haunted/damned/whatever castle was amazing. I will never get bored of Karazhan, still have it in my own number 1 list since BC.
Those good old times when you actually enjoyed getting lost inside a dungeon while player this grandious music... it felt as if it was almost... maddening.
I purchased 1 month of gametime just do solo Karazhan. This was by far the best dungeon ever! The dark castle, the sounds, the bosses, the packs. This was the best!
It's nigh impossible for me to decide, shich theme in WoW is the best, or even make a top 10 or 100, what remains certain however, is the fact that WoW has one of the best soundtracks in the history of gaming, and most themes go really well with the climate of areas they are played in. Case in point, the first time i stepped through Dark Portal, along with the music that started playing was one of the most memorable moments in my gaming life.
Agree 100%! I'd even go as far as to say TBC is one of the most memorable and joyful periods in my life. Not sure if that says more about my life or the game though.
you are totaaly right. Blizzard makes the best cinematics and compose best musics for WoW. no other franchise is no match for Blizzard about these 2 things.
This is AWESOME! Thank you so much! Just what I was looking for. These were the days...Karazhan was the shit...sooooooooooooo much fun. I loved every bit of it! I miss the BC days...would be a dream come true if they brought it back.
Karazhan will always be my favorite raid :) I'm a sucker for a good ghost story and an awesome raid with various encounters. Kara always fulfilled :) and the music is the best! :D Thanks for putting this together! :)
"Behold, ghoules and liches are dancing with nefandous glee acrost dark, deep ravines to the curs´d blasting and wailing of an raucous organ. and witches hold there unholy rites ´neath the Elder Sign in eerie, silent and malign processions ´round nitrid, sulph´rous tombs"
Thank you so much for this because I've been using it for years, particularly the guest chambers section, to call my cat over. years ago i had this as my ring tone and my cat would come running when it rang. Now when I want him to come to bed or anything, I start playing guest chambers and he'll chip and run over to me ❤️
Damn, I've played Warcraft for so many years starting with War 1...definitely a part of me. While the gameplay has improved the immersion certainly has not. Maybe it's because I just got older.
kara... what a priceless and overall masrerpiece to experience. if blizzard ever made a park... i'd go just to see a full mock up of kara... that would be one wicked ride!
maaaan... Karazhan is one of the best designed dungeons in WoW and in all mmorpgs. Not only the bosses are all unique and interesting, but the level design and the theme are all outstanding. Well done, Blizz.
I could give my whole account with all the 2 year progress for coming back to vanilla times to be a noobie player. I don't think cataclysm or mists of Pandaria sucks, but it would be awesome to do all these old raids on 60/70/80 lvl :D
***** I hear Feenix is pretty bad though. Valkyrie WoW doesn't have any power buying and abusive mods and such. It's currently at the AQ War Effort and Smooth McGroove (does Video Game acapellas) runs a pretty huge guild on there called Smooth McGuild full of active players from most timezones 'round the world.
I love that, shady-foggy atmosphere of outside, and also crazy tall dark brick towers, along with a twisted grand magus ( guardian ) and his crazy servants, guests.... indoor stable, room sized living chess game, and a theater stage. Very unique place :)
Ha! And all that attunement process for getting that key wasn't so short. Started with quests sometime at lvl 66 (with Escape from Durnholde if I recall correctly). It was fun in the beginning, not so fun when doing it on 3rd alt. And getting through Karazhan was crucial if you wanted to progress further in raids.
Arthas's lore isn't even the best tbh, it's great but overrated. The emerald nightmare, the old gods, and the void lords trump his lore easily imo. And saying that wow is dead because we finally got to kill him after years is just hyperbolic ignorance
I will always have a soft spot for Karazhan. It was a source of pride to hit 67 and start the quest chain for the door key (on a pvp server, have your own key or get left outside to get ganked)! To this day, I still love to go in there, clean house and just wander around looking at all the detail and hidden passages I'd missed the first time. I dearly wish they'd do more with it, expanding it into multiple runs like they did with Blackrock Mountain.
Karazhan is by far the best raiding instance on WoW. It's rather depressing that it's no longer gear worthy. The music, detail, story, and scripting was amazing.
My God, I love it so much, it brings back memories.... I started playing WoW with tbc and Karazhan was my first raid dungeon. Will never forget my awesome guild and the funny karazhan raids with them. That was so exciting! My absolute favourite dungeon, especially trough the music. Never had that feeling afterwards :
i remember.... Karazhan was my first raid. When I entered for the first time.... to this day I remember sound of creaking wooden door. My heart was pumping and I was so excited/scared!
My first experiance raiding was in kara and I can still remember blasting this ingame music as I waited for the group to form up haha fun times. Little did I know good or bad this one amazing raid would launch me into sleepless nights of raiding wiping on bosses which aburptly ended after I slayed the lich king. So many hours wasted but looking back the memories makes it feel worth it. And I will never forget the first place that I can thank for that experiance....Karazhan
I actually had 9 IRL friends who were playing wow at the time of TBC. We were all spread out class wise and could raid Kara as only IRL buddies. We had such a good time LANing in my parents' house while they were on vacation. Fuck I would do anything to go back to those days again. Being a kid was awesome! No worries, just enjoying life. Cherice your time as a kid, it's be best time you'll ever have!
It's amazing how similar our histories are ... I, too, began playing in TBC and Kara was my first true raid experience. To this day it is my favorite raid. The atmosphere, the story, the mix-and-match feel of the bosses and encounters, and most especially, the music - all of it together made for an unforgettable experience.
And now our whole WoW secret finding team is only hearing this music, walking around karazhan for months to find Jenafur. It has been too long already...
A this brings back memory's of TBC raiding Karazhan and its deffo is the best raid ever made. The thrill and feeling you get when you enter and this music plays will never again be seen again in world of warcraft . This will be a hard raid to beat .
same thing here, TBC was the most amazing expansion... It had lots of challenges, I loved the fact that my holy priest could DPS higher than a shadow priest, or the fact that you could mix up talent trees, make a shaman tank non heroics and the most amazing and beautiful dream place ever... which is outland...
Ah.. Karazhan truly is a great example of what raids SHOULD be like. The atmosphere, there's a lot of different things and places, the music is simply awesome, and the story behind the whole place is good. Everytime I hear Karazhan musics I get chills and I just want to go through it again :D Once you get in you're just trapped there, cause it's too awesome to leave. And the chess! It's just awesome! xD I can't praise this raid enough!
I still run this raid even though i already got the fiery warhorse....the music and design of the castle is just beautiful. One of the better raids in wow.
Best raid in TBC back then, more than Sunwell Plateau in my humble opinion. The music is just... giving me the most memorable experience in The Burning Crusade.
Karazhan was just so amazing.. That wa the ONE raid I never got bored of. Even after having cleared Sunwell, we'd always go in Karazhan with pre-raid blues and even greens and just have a ball..
Best memories in the whole of WoW. I loved leading raids in this place. I took immense pride in only really raiding Kara, Mag and Gruul's lair (later ZA and some tier 5's) and helping gear people up ready to take the next step to the next raid tier. I did this for fun as I didn't really want to raid any higher as I feel it wouldn't be as fun. My full tier 4 prot pala would give anyone a run for their money though... :)
I keep hearing this music in other raids. Like in MoP it randomly started playing in ToT, then another time in SoO. The other day it started playing in HFC. So strange haha
I raided for whole pre-TBC and i still say that karazhan has the best atmosphere inside. It might not be the best raid, but it had something special about it.
I know some people will relate to me, when you were new to WoW and you were trash, you knew that this dungeon existed but it was far out of reach and it was so difficult to get a good group to advance after the opera part, 50% of the groups would not even make it past the first horse( keep in mind i am talking when burning crusade first launched and everything was very very new). I am aware that this dungeon is a piece of cake with training but man oh man in my youth there isnt many things for me that are going to beat this in terms of immersion. Not to mention the music is fantastic.
This Dungeon/Instance/Raid was one of the creepiest I went through. The music inhances the creepiness as you go though it... -Shivers- After I went though it once i swore to never go back to it again! Just the sight of it when am flying sends chills down my spine...
that music reminds me of good times back in wow. we've just made a fun run with my friend in kara 4 days ago. it was pretty nostalgic to see the bosses and all the quotes. opera event ftw.
