I know this is an old video, but I feel like I've been caught out, so I feel like sharing! The K4 "Classic" which happens to be on a good deal at the moment is not water cooled - it's air cooled. You need the Compact, Power, Power Control or Smart Control if you want a water cooled K4. Hopefully my air cooled one won't let me down. I still feel I got a good deal to get the Home & Car set for £200
Good review!👏 I’ve had the k2 for years very reliable but the k4 compact it is definitely much better quality! I’ve got a kranzle but this is in different league. I prefer the k4 compact specially when I take it in the car for mobile valeting. Good explanation so keep it up! All the best! 🤛💪
Thank you for your comment, I nearly bought a kranzle some 20 years ago they ate good machines but bought a hd6/13 karcher instead, for washing JCB and a lot bigger
You may get a different lance or different length hose, or different accessories like a cleaning solution or t-racer floor attachment, or hose winding, depending on model purchased. but motor pressure / flow is all same
I've decided to retire my K series domestic. Bought it about 17 years ago and its getting to bulky. So I've just bought a K4 compact. I will be ordering a 10m hose for it
@@RichManPoorTech ordered the hose today and the the machine comes on Saturday. I'm hoping for reasonable weather on Sunday to try it out on the car . Next bit of kit is a new snow lance as I'm a bit underwhelmed with the Karcher one
@@RichManPoorTech it's a solid bit of kit . I see what you mean when you say about lack of plastic. This is definitely the right size . Only downside is that I'm on the West Coast of Scotland and its blowing a Gail outside, so no trial today
k4 seems cool. im big on washing my car, had my k2 compact for around 10 years now and its on its last legs now. done very very well. time for a new one and maybe upgrade so thinnking the k4 as i like the more portanble wheels and handle. But i hate the stiff hose that from this video i can see this k4 still comes with like my old one. it is constantly tangled and can hit the car when it kicks. is there a more flexible hose for the gun? as a smaller gun

I would presume the one on karcher’s online is a refresh case version, the internals will all perform the same as all the other K4 series that’s what makes them k4, if they didn’t refresh the case’s then they wouldn’t look worth it to update

the power control, premium control or now smart control is about the gun attachment, smart allows for smart phone integration, premium has a gun that has a lcd display, The pump pressure and flow is the same, the k5 has more pressure and flow over the K4
I had k2 but it didn't last a year! Now I'm looking to upgrade to k4. Should we use our power washer straight for 30min then rest or we can use it non stop? Because I've heard different opinions told by people around me
the K4 upwards have a water-cooled pump so that allows for longer usage, better cooling and better longevity, however both are domestic series, and this is fine in most domestic setting, if your on about 30mins and rest are you using it commercially?, like a car wash valet for example if so i would suggest the HD versions, as they are designed for intensive use, also is your hose fitted with a hose lock because they shouldn't have hose locks, a straight through connector with pressure washers

I have told by karcher technical support that to use it for maximum of 7 minutes then take a break .. specifically for machines having universal motor.

The k4 up is a little bit better than the k2 where you attach hose to the gun and machine, this seams to help a bit, the pro hd and HD’s machine are better still owing to thicker hd hose but to be honest they all tangle the hoses as you wander round
I'm interested in a K4... but everytime I search for reviews/videos, its not the same washer?? karcher website doesn't look anything like yours, there is one that is all yellow with a yellow x in front, one yellow and black with the x being black, one like you have, and then the full control one. what gives?
I tried to explain this in the video All k4’s have the same pump cleaning pressure and flow, but there are different models, a bit like buying VW golf you have GTI, convertible, estates etc they are all golfs On the karcher k4 you have K4 compact the one shown K4 power control K4 power control premium K4 smart control Etc I tried to show this against my K7 power control premium which is the top end, smart control also works with a smart phone 📱 This is down to different extra casings, gun etc but the cleaning is the same, home and car models also have more extras you may also be looking at the latest k4 power control against previous generation as the cases did change and there are still new previous generations on the market hope this helps
@@mjdc4056 that's exactly what I'm looking into the karcher for. Do you Use a direct line from mains, tank, or just draw from bucket? I've been trying to find a pressure washer capable of drawing from a tank without assistance of a pump, karcher seems the best choice. I like the ability to draw from bucket when needed but worry about the life of the motor. I can't seem to find what makes a karcher more special in it's ability to self prime. It's an axial motor like most electric pressure washers... I'm starting to wonder if priming a hose the way you do with the karcher suction tube will work for most electric pressure washers, or by using karcher hose.
