How to get the filler cap on your Karcher steam cleaner off after it's stuck. Most other instructions were destructive or asked you to visit the service center. This one worked like a charm.
Thanks a million! I followed your instructions exactly but on my Karcher steamer SC 3.000 and the cap unscrewed immediately after the final 10 minutes as you recommended😊
Thank you so much for sharing! I was all set to destroy it with a screw driver and a hammer. Had to do it twice and also added a bit of water at the top next to the cap itself (not sure if that really helped) but it came off.
I tried as shown but it didn't work , the nozzle didn't suck up the water . However after the 3rd go at heating and releasing air and letting it cool down the plug did unscrew . I think the alkaline build up must be an issue .
Thank you so much. This worked for me 👌 I found it important to allow enough t time to cool down. It didn’t work straight away but i went away and did something else while it cooled then it worked 🎉
i have karcher streamer SC 1.020 and I am trying for second time to release the valve, so far not sucessful but i am very confident I will get to unstuck since I read up some other comments that was trying before give up over all.
Thank you for this video! I have a Phantom that has been in storage since 2007. Cap is stuck. At least this gives me something to try. Still haven't been able to remove cap, but I did get it to take up water, heat up, and produce steam for the first time in 14 years.
No, it happens after the device isn't used for a prolonged period of time. In my example I didn't use it for over two years. Once unstuck it didn't get stuck again even after not being used for months.
@@thedorde7114 thanks for the reply. If you are using it fairly frequently, are you able to refill after about 3-5 minutes of usage? I read others saying that the filler cap is too hot to the touch or that it is under pressure and so one has to wait for it to cool down before one is able to refill water.
@@rockybukus i had no issues refilling it a minute after turning it off. Just have to make sure that all pressure was released. Major drawbacks of this steam cleaner is that the nozzle and container are in the same housing so it's hard to sometimes get all the nooks and crannies. So I would go with the sc-2. Will be a much better solution.
@@thedorde7114 I went to the Karcher centre and the staff confirmed that I won't be able to refill the water tank immediately after each use. The staff mentioned that I have to wait about 30 minutes after each use before I am able to refill. Thanks.
