From the SC3 Manual Soft water (1 flash): 0-7 dH or 0-1.3 mmol/l Medium water (2 flash): 7-14 dH or 1.3-2.5 mmol/l Hard water (3 flash): 14-21 dH or 2.5-3.8 mmol/l Very hard (4 flashes): >21 dH or >3.8 mmol/l PPM (parts per million) is commonly used in the USA so I was able to find my local water’s hardness in PPM and convert to mmol/l with an online converter. I have hard water by American standards but am barely at medium on this machine.
Exactly. The instructions for setting it are clear enough. How to know which setting to use, though, is an absolute mystery! I have very hard water because I'm on a private well but I have a water softener installed. But whether that translates to 1, 2, 3, or 4 for Karcher? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Will this affect steam pressure ? Im finding with mine it has a initial good blast for a few seconds then the pressure drops down below what I was wanting, I replaced my sc1 with this but dont feel it has the same amount of steam pressure ? any ideas ?
