Kareem Alcindor is boss...How many players could posterize Wilt Chamberlain like that...Jordan never posterized Kareem....Every other center got facialized by Jordan...Olajuwon, Shaq, Patrick Ewing, Manute Bol and Patrick Ewing. Not Kareem though. Kareem facialized Olajuwon and Ralph Samson. He was 40 and they were 24 and he still outplayed them.

Kareem is the best player of all time, the greatest winner of all, won 3 titles in H.S., 3 in College ( UCLA ), 6 in the NBA, leading scorer in the NBA, multiple MVP awards, and so on and on, why he's not mentioned among the best? Kareem has a unusual personality, just like ALI - Russell etc who spoke about the injustice to the minorities in the 60's, he's not mentioned among the best players, however those that know about the game of basketball recognized his achievement, THE BEST

Second year Kareem beat a 48-34 lakers that had old wilt (after knee surgery) in the west finals when it was two against one. In the nba finals kareem beat a 42-40 Baltimore for his first champ. 3 rd playoff format until 1984 Second year hakeem beat kareems 62-20 lakers in the west finals and pushed Larry birds 67-15 celtics to 6 games. like I said before kareems career was downhill compared to hakeems 4 rd playoff format hakeem faced more resistant in 1 year (95) than kareem had to face in all 20 years combined. kareem only beat one 60 win team in 20 years. the 63-19 celtics in the 85 playoff. lakers were 62-20 the same year. 1 in 20 years in the 95 playoff alone Hakeem beat 60 win teams Jazz, Spurs, & a 59-23 suns. oh and don't forget the 86 lakers were 62-20...with no home court advantage in any of these series. *quadruple double* Hakeem The Dream Olajuwon 2 kareem 0 in 20 years *5×5* Hakeem The Dream Olajuwon 6 kareem 0 in 20 years Kareem will rack up stats in the regular season but when the playoff rolls around his career regular vs playoff avg. drops in points, rebounds, assist, blocks, & FG%. only his FT%(0.019) and steals(0.1) improves Hakeem's career regular vs playoff avg. improves in Points, rebounds, assist, blocks, FG%, & FT%. only his steal(0.01) drops Kareem was not as "unstoppable" as they claim. the secret was to play him physical and beat him to or push him out of his skyhook range. what would happen if you push Hakeem further out? kareem would play other great centers about 4 times in 82 games but when the playoff started that 82 turns into a 7 game series. All the great centers knew this and this is why he played worse in the playoff vs old wilt (afterknee surgery) Nate Thurmond mose malone and hakeem olajuwon regardless of age or era. What dominate center did kareem beat during the years he won champs? beside solo old wilt (after knee surgery)

hard to argue against Kareem being the greatest of all time. i know Jordan is the politically correct answer to give thanks to the ESPN and Nike-driven cult of personality, but in terms of sheer resume, Kareem did everything Jordan did, and even more. I believe Kareem is among the inner circle of NBA greats among great players. I don't believe one player can truly be the greatest in the game. It's unfair to ignore some of the great pioneers such as George Mikan during basketball's infancy. Many fans are too involved in the right now!! I love the entire history of the NBA although I can't remember basketball players past the 1970s. However my personal all time inner circle greats are: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Jerry West, Bill Russell, John Havlicek George Mikan, Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Hakeem Olajuwon and Kobe Bryant to date. Arguably, John Stockton and Karl Malone and some others may also be included. When Lebron James' career is over, he will definitely be among the GOATs and perhaps Tim Duncan as well. However, the initial greats I mention are special in my personal opinion because they are part of championship teams as well as being GOATs. All n all, I definitely enjoyed listening to Kareem's Hall of Fame induction speech. Awesome legend.

Kareem is the GOAT? You can make a case that 1971 was the only time he was the clear best player on his championship team. In 1980 Magic won without him, and in 1985 when Kareem won Finals MVP, Magic averaged a record 15.2 apg in the 1985 Playoffs and a record 14.0 apg in the 1985 Finals. Got outplayed by Moses Malone in the 1981 playoffs & 1983 Finals. Got outplayed by Nate Thurmond in the 1972 & 1973 playoffs, also missed the playoffs twice in his prime after Oscar retired and did nothing in the playoffs in 5 prime years without Oscar/Magic. Also got an MVP with a losing record and missed playoffs in 1976 - proof of how weak his MVP competition was. Averaged only 13 Points, 4 Rebounds and 1 Assist for his 6th title.

I would pick Kareem over Jordan for the one simple fact that he played center. Being that Kareem played in the low post, he took a physical banging game in and game out. This takes an effect on a player physically, rather than someone who plays on the perimeter. Kareem played in NBA's golden era and not in the watered down NBA of the 1990's..

Hakeem was way better than kareem You-"well kareem had the better longevity and played for 20 years"...wow that excuse. kareem got carried at the end of his career by prime magic and worthy. While Hakeem was still trying to carry his team at the end of his career...huge difference. let me put it into a different term for you Kareem never won a champ without the top 2 point gaurd in the history of the game and an elite team and Jordan never been past the first round without Pippen...in the easy east. Jordan (like kareem) didn't have to carry a franchise alone and it worked in his favor on the tail end of his career and that goes for pippen and Rodman too. Hakeem, Drexler, & Charles Barkley didn't have that luxury. they all had to carry a franchise for most of their respective careers and the wear a tear shows on the tail end of their careers. Hakeem doesn't even get a "prime" franchise carrying Drexler until his 12th season and Charles Barkley in his 13th. Bulls Big3 combined missed games. MJ, Pippen, Rodman. 96'-22 97'-27 98'-40 Rockets Big3 missed games 96'- 40* 97'- 53 98'- 61 *96- only Hakeem and Drexler. Charles wasn't with the Rockets this year. but he did missed 11 games in 96 which total out to 51 games between Hakeem, Drexler, and Barkley The Rockets still almost made the finals in 97'. Put Jordan on a team solo in the wild west and let's see him win champs let alone even get out of the conference. There are other variable in the factors that the NBA will not show on the mass media because they got to sell the products. It's all about money in the end. follow the money and you'll find the truth. But kareem doesn't give the credit of his longevity to Oscar or Magic. Nope he thanks yoga. yes yoga look it up kareem needs to THANK HIS PGs for his lagecy...but he doesn't

Wilt was not really challenged, he had no peers in the pivot except Kareem. Both Wilt and Kareem won the championship with two teams. But that means nothing because I know Robert Horry won 5 or 6 championship with 3 team. Jordan never won a championship without Pippen. His teams with the Wizards were terrible.I think Kareem was the best. He won in college, his first year in the pros.

Who said Kareem Jabbar at the end of the video? How tacky! His name was NEVER Kareem Jabbar. His name was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. His speech was very short and nice. He was quite a player, as i was a Laker fan growing up in the late 70's, when Magic and Kareem won that Championship against Philly. If i remember right, Kareem was injured, and Magic had to lead the team through the playoffs and into the Finals, and he did just that! What a great player, and i wish him much success!

I have been a Celtics fan all my life and despised the Lakers, but I always loved Kareem and Magic. I’ve got the greatest respect for both men for their presence and advocacy of the game. The Hall of Fame does it much better now, with multiple camera angles. I wish I would have been able to see the people he talked about. They must have been proud!

I have so many memories since your were college and after your first yr they Banned dunking in the NCAA. Who makes college basketball to change the Rules like Wilt when they widened the Lane. I remember the Timed delayed games at 10:30 pm, it took a while before Basketball took hold but the the laker's games I had a vhs recorder and I never missed a laker game other than when you punched the back board or Kermit's face. The lakers were terrible when you missed those games and the Migraines and all the crap you took for that I have had migraines and unless you've had one you cant say a word about. But since I saw you win 3 ncaa titles in the three yrs you were eligible Freshmen were not allowed to play varsity and your freshman team beat the #1 rated team to take home bragging rights. Thanks for the memories and I am sorry but when showtime was at its best I have never seen a team as good as those and I loved Magic and your teammates brought out pure joy in you and you started showing us that you hated to lose just like your teammates also came from winning programs and I think that suited you just fine.

I didn't say Jordan never ran into the paint. What I'm saying as a low post player, Kareem would take more of a banging underneath because the majority of his play was around the basket. Jordan did go to the basket and played some of the time in the interior, but most of his play was around the perimeter of the court.

Also, the fact that Kareem had to battle against centers and power forwards for rebounds is also something people don't take into account. He took a pounding down there night after night, and would still comeback and put up great numbers.

if you combine the top two greatest scorer ever to play the game 39 years career. only 5 years was the offense not being run by Oscar Robertson, John Stockon, or Magic Johnson. the same three that everyone considered the greatest points gaurd and floor general in the history of the game. how do you think Karl malone is above 3 kobe, 4 mj, and 5 wilt. kareem is one of the greatest scorer of all time but you can't look over the fact that he had help. kareem career was downhill compared to hakeem's career.

Actually the New York Mets had a pitcher named Tom Seaver who arguably was a contemporary of Abdul-Jabbar. Some sportwriters in New York called Seaver "The Franchise." In the late 1960s and early 1970s Seaver was the face of New York baseball. He even did a documentary with Wilt Chamberlain!
