Everyone seems to forget what a badass ol chuck was. Just the thought of him as a young go-hard getting the business from someone who frankly just outranks him…thaaaaats pretty funny 😄 🤷♂️
@@brianbaylark3889Lmao nigga what? He ain’t lived in those times in decades, and the dude didn’t go through any of that, he was a superstar, dude was fucking white girls when other blacks couldn’t, stop it, he didn’t go through shit.
Yeah I heard that too. Kareem was mean and Julies Erving was just the nicest and kindest. Glad to see grandpa Kareem got way nicer and kinder as he got older :)
Doc was my favorite player as a child. He would make it difficult to get his autograph. He would go through one door and leave out through another to duck the autograph seekers. I caught him talking to a pretty lady, and I walked up to him for the 5th or 6th time that evening. He didn't want to give me the autograph, but she told him to, and he did. When he looked at the program that had his picture on it and all his teammates had signed it as well as some opponents, he was surprised and made a statement like wow you got everybody. I said yes. Then he shook my hand and said, "That's great. Just running around the arena and trying to find him made it worthwhile . I think his teammates even helped me after signing their autographs by telling me where to go to find him. They would point and say he's down there, and I would run to the other location he would be there and refuse to sign . I learned a lesson about being persistent and polite. Finally, I got his autograph, and I still have that piece of memobralia.
@@theoriginalthinker9199Says who? Do you know who Charles Barkley is? He’s an incredible talent and has every right to introduce himself to another All-Time Great. You’re telling me Kareem can’t spare 10 seconds to show some respect himself? Stop treating Kareem like some sort of God and try holding him to some level of basic decency, you stans.
@@123Mathzak If you would've taken the time to understand where I was coming from, you'd know that I was implying that Kareem was the disrespectful one!
Back then, even if you didn't like a team, you could enjoy watching a true master of the game. That's been lost. Example, Jokic 2023 (and every year leading up). I grew up in Toledo. Pistons fan.
@@markadams4791Not really. Lew, before becoming Karem, was serious about ball and his education at Power Memorial in the City. My brother/cousins took me to games on sideline, when babysitting. He was a teenager and as a younger...we never associated, but he was cordial. He was about business. Power bballers were champs. UCLA and the people he met changed him to be cautious and a critical thinker.

I've had the honor and pleasure of meeting him and speaking with him in Boston many times.... he's a really cool person.... a true legend.... but also a really great intellectual person to speak with about any topic.
I think that's a little bit of respect towards Chuck from Kareem! "Because now I'm paying for it!" These stories from these past Legends are absolutely fantastic!!❤
Hey 7 foot tall! Of course he wants peace. Where does he ever get in public? He walks out and he sticks out like a sore thumb instantly. Even if he wasn’t famous, he’s a walking spectacle everyday that people would stare at and want to take pictures with due to his height.
I'm 65 myself and follow Kareem and Jim and Bill when they were backing Ali I'd had the New paper picture and On jet and Ebony My parents had a saying if you go over to someone's house and they don't have A Jet magazine or Ebony get the hell out of that house .Real talk 😆
Kareem came from a different time than us if he would have been like Magic And Bird Jordan he would be so loved today. But I'd like the fact that he was serious in his time because I'd owe him Ali and Jim Brown how to talk and take myself serious Back then skinning and grinning wasn't the way to go We had to be kind of standoffish but to this day he'd still my Goat. But it is good to see him smile and laugh now.❤
Take out Jim Brown and add Bill Russell, Jim Brown was lowkey a horrible guy that was that seriously abused black women. The rest of your post I completely agree with, I love that Kareem was who he was at the time he came out.
This Brother has been under a microscope all of his life in addition to that he lived in the turmoil of the 60s wasn’t nothing funny, I admire him he represented us well.
Yeah seems like he really mellowed out. That happens to some people, they get more chill as they get older. And some other people get more uptight and grumpy as they age.
One of the keys of Barkley's Charisma is how he's willing to make himself the butt of the joke for the sake of a good story ❤. He way he ends this clip " Uhhhh . . .ok" is perfect and endearing 😂
That funny because Charles Barkley did the same to me and Atlanta when I went up and tried to speak at the gas station ⛽️ I was by myself so was he and he didn’t respond when I said hello I was a fan of him playing basketball 🏀 😂
I always looked at athletes like Kareem, Jim Brown, Bill Russell, Jackie Robinson and Ali as carrying a greater weight than other guys. Especially compared to the last 45-50 years, things have changed so much socially and economically. But yeah they just had more than the game to play.
So many greats are introverts. I think it could be an inherent quality to being great when most people think of being an introvert as less than an extrovert.
A "ranDu"m thawt 🤔... The perfect "Training Day" response. Y'all remember that scene. "You're interrupting my paper, so since you got sump'n to say, entertain me. I like my news stories, so tell me a story!" 😂😂😂😂
Kareem kareem abdul jabar has a great sense of humor That I never knew about. Look how hard he laugh when Shaq ask Kareem to confirm the Barkley story. Hilarious!!!😊
I’m so glad that Shaq and Kareem are on good terms. They’re two of the greatest centers of all time and the basketball world is so much better with them coming together like this.
