If she is supposed to know about laws and stuff, she should know that what she was doing is illegal. It is illegal to harass people for hunting or fishing.
She was probably dissappointed it wasn't dead so she could scold them for it. People like her requires misery as a weapon for them. Given they knew exactly what they were doing it likely made her attack on them difficult as they were ignoring her and dealing with the shark to take the pics then get it into the water quickly so it can swim off. .
I've had crap like this happen a few times fishing or hunting. It's best to just ignore the people like this that aren't being rational. People always say that they know what you're doing is illegal. When in reality the person usually fishing or hunting knows the laws about what they're doing better than the average person.

Thank you for removing the hooks. I'm not a fan of shark fishing in general but I appreciate good hunters and fisherman that send them home with little impact or put them out quickly to reduce suffering. I'm not a vegetarian so I can't say shit. And hunters and fisherman are usually more respectful and knowledgable about animals than the average Karen.
You can speak out against stuff you consider immoral without flipping to the entire opposite end of the spectrum. I ain’t a vegan, but factory farms are abhorrent in my eyes and sport fishing (although a lot better when done responsibly like this) isn’t a great hobby.
100%. Most hunters and fishers want to do as little harm as they can when doing their sport yet a Karen will go and eat a burger made from farming by terrible means or go eat an avocado that people have died over. (Look up avocado cartels).

Hooks tend to fall off anyways especially in salt water since it corrodes the hooks but only remove the hooks if you can do it safely. It ain't worth losing a finger over a hooked shark especially ones that aren't in danger of extinction.
In my state, and a lot of others I assume, it's actually illegal for someone to harass / interfere with someone engaged in "sporting activities" such as hunting or fishing so long as that person has a valid hunting/fishing license and they're following all of the applicable rules and regulations. The game wardens here in Texas take harassment of sportsmen pretty seriously.
Im from Oregon and im sad to admit that im not that familiar with our sporting laws, to be honest every animal I have 'caught' has ended up in the cooking pot.
That is a great law. People should leave others doing their hobbies, sport, or profession alone. Regardless if they think it is wrong or not. Go protest or talk to the government instead of harassing the person who is doing it. Doing that won't help XD.

I know what she is talking about but this is very different. Some people took a baby seal out of the water and killed it because they wanted pictures with it. But you were just fishing and released it. Other than the hook I am pretty sure the shark is perfectly fine.
When a shark is handled correctly it will almost definitely survive. The only exception to this is hammerheads that sadly have a 50% mortality rate. But the species shown in this video (sandbar) is very resilient and will be fine, as will most whalers.

Why do people have this misconception that fish and sharks will die if they’re out of water for a few seconds? Most of the people that freak out about animals don’t know the first thing about them.
To be fair it was out for multiple minutes to no human wants to be in the water for that long and if ur just doing it for the pic ur making an animal suffer so u look more macho I het why it annoys u but u cant argue with laws 🤷♂️

It is fucking animal abuse! The shark is getting pulled out of the water where it can’t breathe and super stressed out just so they can take pictures. If someone tried to drown you and took pictures of you struggling they would get 10 years in prison.
It’s illegal to intentionally catch a shark in most beaches, however that is only if you are specifically fishing for sharks. If it is accidental then the fisher is not in trouble and is instead supposed to release it. So I can see where she’s coming from, however judging by your content you indeed not intentionally caught a shark. You did follow the law in releasing it too. She could have handled the situation differently by asking if you were specifically fishing for sharks, instead she assumed you were and decided to be a bitch about it. So yes she’s in the wrong.
It seems you don't know much about the law either. It is in fact illegal to take Sandbar Sharks out of the water. Look it up. NOAA regulations. updated July2020. Not hard to find.

Omg!!! I literally have a friend who is 30 and has never had a job in her whole life. She was kicked out of school and out on probation in HS and sent to mandatory volunteer work at a soup kitchen and to this day she still refers to the Industry as 'her field' and will talk about her job at the soup kitchen. That Karen doesn't get the concept that "owning" property at the beach isn't owning the sea. If that were the case, believe me, that Karen's house would have already been bought by a corporation.

We have a large proportion of our global population that believes we literally descend from god, and the other half think we have ascended out animal nature to some higher order of being and purpose via evolution.
