She does a nice version of it. I would NEVER compare the two singers. Claire has a pleasant voice...but Karen was the master and a singer that gave us such joy...a singer who was able to convey such emotion in every one of her songs...and is regarded as one of the finest female vocalists of all time!!!
I remember when JFK Jr died, my friend in Boston blurted out, "Do you understand that all the girls in Boston grew up dreaming they would marry him." Claire's voice is lovely .. and Karen never sang this. But ohmygoodness, as she sings it, I hear Karen's voice instead, as if this song was meant for her to sing it. I totally have chills!

During 70s Claire made a cigarette commercial singing voice only.She was unknown at that time. Everybody thought it was Karen Carpenter. That's why she was called Karen Carpenter of the Philippines. She is lucky to meet Richard Carpenter in person when she recorded this song. RIP Claire.

Porque no solamente basta con el talento, que tenía muchisimo, sino que le ponía todo su esfuerzo y entrega, a pesar de tener esa terrible enfermedad, para que su trabajo fuera excelente al igual que Richard y su banda. Honor y gloria para KAREN! Ojalá sean muchos los HOMENAJES que se le rindan el próximo 3 de febrero de 2023, cuando se cumplen 40 años de su prematura muerte.

maybe im wrong but karen carpenters mother never once told her how proud she was of her that would have given her more self confidence than anything and she never would have resorted to self-starvation
I have so many different copies of their greatest albums. I miss Karen....so much...her voice is just like a candy....so so sweet! BTW, do you have "Beechwood" this video? This is the first single I knew Carpenters. Why these talented artists always gone too soon....Sad...
Wonderful video ... I loved the special effects. Karen never heard this song as Richard wrote it a few years after Karen died. The one Karen was scheduled to record was the one recorded by Dionne Warwick - In Love Alone - another beautiful song.
voice do change too.. when claire was still young, she really sounded like karen.. no wonder richard came here to the philippines to ask claire to sing this song. the song he wrote for her sister karen!
