I remember my first visit to Karim’s in the early 1970s, perhaps in 1973 while on a holiday in Delhi during vacations, the food was really amazing. This was followed by more visits over the years but unfortunately the quality had really deteriorated and we stopped going, the last visit being over 20 years ago or more. This experience is shared by a lot of old Delhi walas who used to be regular customers. I do hope the current generation of owners have revived the old standards.

I was literally taking notes while watching this video ... and I've noted down all the menu items I'm going to be ordering the next time I visit the original Karim's(which will definitely be very soon). All the owners of the joint are such hospitable & warm people... no wonder their food is top level for so long.

First off all I was waiting for this review of Karim"s from your side. Let me tell you one thing that my first visit to India was in July 1977 and our families first visit to Delhi was at the end of our journey through India after 6 weeks finishing in Delhi. The food that we tasted was of Karim's at lunch time cause our flight back to Karachi was around 6pm. The taste that i experienced at that time was just like my Grandmother's(DADIE) cooking especially Stew. second time was in 1982 and taste was still same no doubt the taste was still there. When My NANA was taking all of us to this place in 1977 I asked where he was taking us and just said explained one word that was to MUGHLIE DASTERKHOWAN. We walked between complicated alley way and there it was. The pictures tell the story that the appearance of the food haven't changed. If you can please pass these compliments to them.

When I watch your videos I think of the characters in the book “ Ujra Dayar “ by Shahid Ahmad Dehalvi. I am glad that the Mughal heritage of India is alive in the heart of Delhi. I have known food pairing with wine but first time I have seen curry pairing with bread..amazing content. Karim is a LEGEND but only in JM main branch. Somehow I feel that other franchised outlets around Delhi have not been able to match the taste u get over here perhaps due to the old Delhi charm and ambiance.

I have been going to Kamir's for not less than 20 years now.....I like your videos for honest and unbiased reviews, though the quality at Karim's has deteriorated immensely, specially when it comes to dishes like Biryani and mutton korma, last biryani I had at Karim's had smell of bad meat (not fresh), worst biryani I ever had, I don't usually comment on videos, but this review of yours is something which is more like an appeasement than an honest feedback, I too was once a big fan of Karim's and that's why my judgement is not based on one bad experience, it has happened everytime in the last few years....god knows if they prepare saparetely when they know there is a shoot or something...though I always believe that everyone is free to have their own opinion.

I loved the way Karim sir serving and patiently and delicately explaining somehow he had been in the kitchen this is true nature of king of Karim empire.

My favorite restaurant in the whole wide world. Have been to most states across India, many countries in South Asia and Far East, the whole of Middle East, UK, other parts of Europe, USA etc. Nothing comes remotely close to Karim, and their flagship outlet at Jama Masjid. I have visited this outlet atleast 50 times, and the taste has been impeccable each time, without fail. Thanks Yahya Bhai for covering this legendary outlet in your unique style👌👌
