Being part of the choir in Linz was a once in a lifetime experience and I am so happy and thankful to have had the chance to sing there at the world premiere of such an important and touching piece of music. A very big thank you to all the organizers and people who worked for years in preparation of One World. I had the most wonderful time with most wonderful people from all over the world.
Thank you and Vielen Danke to Brucknerhauz Linz, Sir Karl Jenkins, World Orchestra for Peace, World Choir for Peace, HardChor, Musischen Borg Linz, Stay at Home Choir, Austrian Federal Youth Choirs and all the soloists for this amazing concert of One World! It was excellent and wonderful for all of us to listen to this concert!
An honour to sing with the massed choir. Something i will remember forever. The love in the room was incredible. Thank you WCP and thank you Sir Karl for making this happen.
I could'nt be here yesterday because of two live rehearsals. Listening now! I am so proud I have been able to be a small part of this with the Stay At Home Choir. This is magic! Thank you to sir Karl and everyone involved! The world needs this so much.
Couldn't agree more. Such an engaging concert. Peace is what we all want. So grateful to SAHC and Sir Karl Jenkins for the Concert, fabulous musicianship and opportunities to participate virtually in recent years. 🙏🏾
Really honoured to have been a part of this amazing world premiere and to have met so many lovely people from around the world especially friends from stay at home choir. Many thanks to Tori Jamie and the great Sir Karl Jenkins.
The world premiere of Sir Karl Jenkins "ONE WORLD" was an unforgettable experience, and I am still overwhelmed by the music, the people, and all the wonderful encounters in Linz. Many thanks to Sir Karl Jenkins, for his profoundly moving and meaningful music and lyrics. All the musicians were incredibly fantastic, whether as soloists or in the orchestra and choir. The commitment of the Brucknerhaus team was also exceptional. I am grateful and deeply moved and will never forget this once in a lifetime experience. Astrid

Absolutely astounding - Jenkins is the Beethoven of our times, ideologically speaking. Musically, there's just been a blissful passage very reminiscent of Mahler.
34:02 #7 Tikkun Olam L'taken olam bamalchut Shaddai To repair the world under the Kingdom of God With or without faith, no matter, we have to save our little boat in this universe.
You know what? I would like to learn from the ones of you, who took part in a choir - whether on stage, on the balcony or at home - which text you used for the "chaos and bedlam" in 2 - Let's Go! And in which language. I for my part recited the first two verses from Genesis in The Bible, because it seemed very fit ... earth still being a tohuvabohu nefore creation. In ancient Hebrew, as I learnt it once.
I said the first line of the Lords prayer in the Irish language. It seemed very apt. " Ar nAithir ata ar neamh go ndeantar do thoil ar an dtalamh Mar a ndeantar ar neamh"
I said the first few lines of The Creed from the Anglican Order of Service, in English.... 'We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and Earth, of all that is seen and unseen' @@jeromemaume4320
But that's only the beginning, the first two movements! Savitur for example is genuine Indian, Unus Mundus has a lot of languages all over the world, Sakura is all Japanese ... It seems that Jenkins, Barratt and the other makers could do it only wrong ... for some commentators it's too little Christian, for others too much!
Sorry friends, if you organize a Concert for PEACE, please ask orchestra director try to switch the rithm and make it sound better than a funeral procession soundtrack, this is so sad, it breaks my heart. I can agree that during Jenkins ages, there were nothing but funerals and sadness but maybe we should hang on things that make life worth living including the classical composition interpretations, let it sound like.. Jenkins in Karajan vision, more energizing than breaking us the hearts of pain and grief, think about it Ok? If it's a concert for peace...put it peace on musical notes then, put it the Ode To Joy prevail, we are lucky survivors, we try to give human existance a better use. ..can we? Just asking 😢😢😢
Well ... I've given it consideration. And all I can say to it, is: It's the music that the composer wrote! He knows, how he wants it played and sung, and thus he conducts it that way. If you want Beethoven, that's allright, but then you have to listen to Beethoven and not to Jenkins. It IS a sad and problematic world we are living in after all, and the fast, loud and energetic pieces in Jenkins' music are connected with war and slavery. Renewal comes as a quiet and peaceful spring like in "Sakura". With a summer to follow, but that is not here yet. There are a lot of musical works empressing hope in a livid way. Admitted. This one is not, sorry for that. Perhaps peace is a quiet thing, not a loud one, could it be? Think about it, too ...
You understood nothing. There is not only one religion in the world, and the Gayatri Mantra is not New Age, it's Indian. We must learn to respect one's other religion, even if it's different to ours - even if it's none! Or war and hate will never stop.
