The word genius is tossed about regularly and 99% of the time it is unwarranted but in karl lagerfeld's case it is truth. A visionary who stayed consistently ahead of the ever changing face of the fashion industry and not just leading it but creating it as he when along from whole cloth no pun intended. he is irreplaceable .R.I.P
What’s with the random hate comments after the man died? Where were you people when he was alive? I really don’t get this generation’s negativity and love of tearing down powerful people. We’re all human, right? Did he shine too brightly? Roaches.
Perfectionists can sometimes be rather brutal. Some people cannot abide the drive it takes to succeed on the level he had, so they rebel in whatever way they can. He was a survivor and loved his survival tactics. He was also extremely self-assured, which is a paramount trait for success. I found him a genius at what he loved and chose to do in life...rather funny as well.
These haters are brats, they are the cesspool of society. Intelligent people do not go around spreading hate. Karl will always be a fashion icon. He was more then just fashion.
@@seansoudica7092 Hear hear! Some people expect to be coddled by highly successful people...isn't going to happen, and would be a tragedy were they to do so. Working hard for a genius is a gift...some just can't take the pressure, or they want it to come too easily. Nope.
He was awesome, an artist, he turned elegance into dresses, the best...being honest and direct can come out as rude and racist .. he said what he thought.
Kinda sad during his big entrance with the little model kid on his side (wtf was that, hopefully just a niece or nephew), Karl was dragging toilet paper or something sticking on his shoe.
He would stage some ridiculous 'cat-walks' to attract attention. His fashion was weird, ugly and not reflecting the original house of Chanel ! Karl Lagerfeld was this arrogant, self-righteous little German Jewish man, who never admitted to be who he truly was. He was afraid to admit he was a Jew. His family were Nazi sympathizers, therefore they were lucky enough, to get moved to some remote country area, to live out the War, while all other Jews were thrown into the 'camps' and lost their lives ! What a disgusting he was, Karl Lagerfeld (who changed his last name from "Lagerfeldt" to "Lagerfeld" (he dropped the "t" at the end of his last name. If you read his biography, you'll notice that Karl Lagerfeld(t) always omitted, never acknowledged or talked about his 'background'. His religious denominations was always blurred, never confirmed, what exactly who he was. He always tried to remain as such, trying real hard to hide his true identity. I feel that Karl Lagerfeld(t) was truly afraid to be known/exposed as a Jew. He tried so hard to hide it, for so many years. Now he's dead, so what.
Untrue. He was baptised, Catholic. Both of his parents joined the Nazi party, as most did at that time. Soon her mother left the party but his father remained to protect his business interests. All has been documented.
