I figured out that the Karl Johan is essentially an Odin meets a Schlieffen, and if you spec and play her that way she is quite potent and fun! Since she is a mini-Schlieffen, I put a German hunter paint scheme on her and a Kreigsmarine Flag, and as a German BB hull she is right as home in my fleet.
If they would’ve made it lower concealment with longer secondaries it be a beast. Idk why they took away low concealment from it. One PC thing they should’ve kept in it
So I'm gonna suggest trying the dd commanders for this ship. Much like the schröder you can play a hybrid captain an not suffer to much negative from it. So if you go with a torp focus commander you can get your torp reload down to 52 secs, add dmg an speed to them, along with other stuff depend on your taste tho you do lose out on the smoke screen/engine boost perk line. However if you go the other commander you bring you concealment down below 13 I believe, increase your hp, rudder shift, torps, and some other stuff tho I don't think this had any draw backs like the other did. Lastly you can literally pick any commander except the bb one an spec to your like from what I notice, but just something to look at 🤷♂️
That's an interesting take, I never considered taking the DD commander for a torp build. I think a lot of players see her secondaries, realize she's a Swedish PR, and go "lets make her a secondary meme build!". I'm gonna give the DD Captain a go now
@@Mike-8404 yeah I was thinking secondaries too, but I got to thinking hybrid like schröder. So I took a look an the negatives aren't to bad if at all tbh. Let me know how it works for you definitely curious!
Setting fires and floods are definitely the bread and butter for this. Area denial and finding those noob bb players that dcon one fire, only to be set on fire and flooded what makes this a good tool in the toolbox.
I’m agree, I really wanted to like it. I tried but it’s just underwhelming 😢. A lack of a true gimmick indeed. Not a good tier 8 at all. They need to rework it
She seems to play like the German BC's, such as PR. Not a brawler by any means, but a stealthy secondary hitter. Looks like I need to grind and/or buy her then lol
@@kriegsfuhrer1517 On PC she's supposed to be great at stealth. What I use her for, stealth wise, is hiding behind an island and ambushing reds pushing a cap. She's too weak for brawling
