It looks so. Main guns are not great, although you got many of them and nice reload, HE is weak, AP doesn't do much most of time, secondaries not worthy of build into them. Torps are nice - by number and run speed but dont use 6th ship slot to fully build into them, durability then goes down alot. Even wo that module they tend to be kicked off pretty frequently, loosing 2 racks on same side happen s and then your power is depleted 😅. I saw many Karl XIV Johan in ranked but they don't do much well, armor is casemate and HP low. But I had single great brawl with this ship, all 4 kills 180K but defeat thx to frag of second faster enemy (Iwami?) mutual kill😅. Tren is brave💪 to bring torpedo main BB into randoms. Thumb up for result in such mostly distant shooting game. 👍 . ..Minced meat filled paprikas with rice, we have that with tomato sauce. But I don't like that much, the meat looses lot of taste by mincing and boiling and paprika becomes such a wet socks😅😅. What a couple of decades ago it was, I remember my granny cooked this food more than my mom, but the food tasted great delicious, fresh new to kid I was. Lot of ❤ cooked into the food that time.
I just got this ship in the exchange. I went with increasing the main gun range, and it seems to work pretty well past 20 km. I only have an 11 point commander on this ship, so I went with fire prevention instead of concealment, and I'm still undetected at the maximum range of my torpedoes. It does kite well too. It's definitely not a brawler, though.
Same bro, I increased the range because I tried it with a brawler build and I'm getting bombarded by shells before my secondaries can fire. When I switched to long range build, it somehow felt better. Plus the torpedoes can meme the heck out of random DDs just position themselves on the map.
This ship is by design not tanky and eats a ton of pens no matter how you angle, given the secondaries have the low American secondary pen the least they could do would be to buff the base accuracy a little to at least match the Preussen line so if you want to suic!de and rush in you can at least do a little damage with the secondaries before you are sunk, as it stands the secondaries are completely underwhelming even if you build for them fully because of the low % of hits so even the number of fires is low. This ship is something only pros can play well, it is very difficult to get good games in this as the scenarios / situations for this ship lasting long in battle are not many. Picture the schlieffen line where you give up working secondaries and slow torps that actually do decent damage for fast low damage torps with low flooding chance. In battle this thing is less tanky than a Schlieffen line ship in perms of ease of damaging this ship, there should be a little more to this ship to make it work well (this has to compete against a musashi, and frankly will seldom win that fight, would be nice if it did a little more damage before it loses though).
