I code professionally for about 24 years, now I want to become a super model and change my career (have one)! On a more serious note: I appreciate the effort to get young females interested in this subject! Never got my two girls excited but they had first hand experience of night and weekend shifts to get that damn release out. Maybe that put them off a bit.

I absolutely love the idea of getting more girls and women involved with coding. Every type of diversity is a huge benefit to any creative or problem solving field and coding is both. However, I do find it strange that of the many videos about Koding With Klossy, none (that I can find) talk about the contents of the camp. As a parent, I'm more interested in videos about what my child would be learning and less about Karlie being a model who likes to code.

Guys, please treat female devs the same as your male colleagues. If they are doing something the wrong way, call them out, argue, impress standards. Many female devs get treated with kid gloves and develop bad habits, often through the fault of the people they should be learning from. We all started out a bit dodgy, but someone had no inhibitions about telling us why we were dodgy and we grew.

I think the real barrier to entry here is that coding is fucking awful. It's mind-numbingly boring. I'm a guy and whenever I have to do some coding for work it makes me want to shoot myself.

More girls into code means more girls into gaming and game design, and I am all for that.

One of positive things about Eastern European countries is that due to communism where everyone worked equally is that there's not that much of a discrepancy between women and men in tech and/or STEM. We grew up seeing our moms going to work and you had to learn maths and physics no matter what, at least to some common sense degree and teachers are very competitive and willing to invest in any kid, no matter their gender, as long as they can win competitions for them heh... That's why I personally find it hilarious when I see certain groups in USA going ape about "but women don't want to be alone with a computer all day". Lol. My mom's an engineer, 2 of my closest girl friends are programmers just random examples.

More women in the tech industry coding would be great. I get tired of the frat boy mentality in my industry.

I also have a lot of coding in my degree. For all the languages we had so far(5), i got the same statement for all of them: "It's shit don't use it!"

This girl just skyrocketed into the top position in every nerds spankbank.

It's also especially important to learn coding as an attractive young woman to improve your confidence that there are no tech-savvy perverts hijacking your webcam to spy on you.

I don't have a problem with this at all, in fact I even suggested people to help. But I am curious, is there anything to get boys educated about Teaching or Nursing? People point to lack of women in STEM or a number of places, and some simply blame men. This obviously is better in that something is being done, but my question is, why are we never looking at the places where women "dominate"? It's always look at where men "dominate". mathematically - if parity is desired, wouldn't that be more than teaching girls coding, but also teaching boys to go in fashion, writing, gender studies, etc, etc?

What's going to happen when all the students are trying to be programmers and the rest of the sciences - not to mention other disciplines like history, philosophy, literature, art - are bereft of students? COMPUTERS CAN'T SOLVE EVERYTHING. There are tons of things to learn, professions to master, that have nothing to do with computers. What'll happen when no-one is interested in anything else?

Start with a job that only requires a beautiful appearance, then jump to one that requires anything but.
