World boxing history,
The match between Riddick Bowe vs Luis Gonzalez on June 17, 1995, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Nevada, United States. Or the fight dubbed the "Mortal Enemies" fight, which was a professional boxing match for the WBO heavyweight title, which at that time was held by Riddick Bowe.
And this fight can be concluded as a complete revenge fight for Riddick Bowe against Luis Gonzalez, for the following reasons:
1. First reason
The two boxers had already fought as amateurs, namely when the Pan American Games were held in 1987, and in that match Luis González managed to knock down Riddick Bowe four times and won the match via a unanimous decision.
2). Second reason:
At the time the first press conference was held for the two boxers, namely on March 22 1995, at that time both fighters were present to officially announce that their match would be held on June 17 1995. However, not long after Riddick Bowe arrived at the event, Luis Gonzalez tried to provoke Riddick Bowe who was seen talking, and pushed one of Riddick Bowe's team members. This led to a small fight between Riddick Bowe and Luis Gonjzalez at the first press conference.
3). And the third reason:
At another press conference, namely in April, or one month before this match was held, the two boxers threw ice at each other, until both had to be restrained by their respective managers to prevent a wild fight between the two boxers.
And there Luis Gonzalez clear insulted Riddick Bowe, namely by comparing himself to a lion and saying Riddick Bowe was a big cow.
and Luis Gonzalez also threatened several times that he would "kill" Riddick Bowe, during their next match.
--------
But after this match was held... What Luis Gonzalez said could not be proven in the boxing ring, while Riddick Bowe, managed to appear strong and looked emotional throughout this fight, and managed to knock out Luis Gonzalez in the sixth round of this match.
