I love this song, and I wouldn't have ever heard it without hearing the lil wayne one.

im not saying she should be happy but to be honest had i not listened to lil wayne's song and wanted to hear where the chorus was sampled from i would have never stumbled upon this gem i love both songs so now thanks to lil wayne she has one more fan. i mean i'm not going to lie i never would have heard this song if it wasn't for the other one because its not what i usually listen to so hey something new on my ipod lol

You don't need clearance if you aren't selling it for profit... That's why Lil' Wayne never put the song on an album because he never got clearance. Now he did perform his version live -- and he could be sued for that.

It's not illegal to sample, man hip hop artists do this all the time. like Jason Derulo did with whatcha say. he sampled from Imogen Heap. You don't have to have permission to do something like this.

Both songs are good... The point is if Wayne isn't making money on the track then neither should she. I haven't dug that much into it but if Wayne is just releasing free mix tapes with this track on it-- Then it would be free. It wouldn't even be an issue. BUT if he is making money on it which he probably is, then some percentage will obviously be payed out just like when anyone samples anything. Not just hip-hop, people DO sample outside of hip-hop, best believe.

the song is heartfelt and is was totally illegal for the producer to steal her beat and sell it for a profit to Lil Wayne without the proper clearance, however, I feel that the dignity of the song was not harmed at all - Lil Wayne poured his heart out telling about his nearly life-long struggle with addiction (and, consequentially, withdrawal). Basically, they were both addicts and to complain about anything other than a lack of monetary compensation is the pot calling the kettle black.

Lil Wayne made this track famous. The song I Feel Like Dying is on a mixtape called The Drought is Over Pt 2. its free, so he isnt making money off of it. I dont know what this version is about, but i know that Wayne actual had a really bad drug problem when he made his version. His is more impacting than this weird depressing track

why would you expect someone who's trade is masquerading as a thug to be above ripping off someone who really is a musician. Karma had been doing this (her original song) for some time when she was living and playing in Miami. She has genuine talent and deserves to have her music heard. The sad fact is that Lil crooks hijacking of her tune is the most exposure she has ever had in the U.S. too bad she and the music listening public deserve better.

Karma is actually a very close family friend of mine. Anytime I hear Lil Wayne's version it makes me sick & I'm a huuuuge hip hop fan. This song has such a deeper meaning that lil wayne just completely perverted. Such a beautiful song.
