For all those people who think this song is about a gold-digger, YOURE WRONG!!! It's about a girl who liked a rich guy but once she spent time with him, she realized that he wasn't good for her. And that what her parents told her about manipulation and that rich guys are good was wrong. She is stating that she doesn't want to be with him and that she'd rather be alone than be stuck with that rich guy that has little character.

Okay everyone, this whole song is a Metaphor: A figure of speech which makes an implied comparison between two things. A Capella is technically singing without instruments, so she means she can live without a man and go solo. Also, that 'screeching' noise some of you are complaining about is called a Falsetto: To sing notes higher than your voice can normally go. She put that in there as a joke by the way... Alright, I'm done with my RU-vid rant for the month.

Wow, since there are still people who don't understand: Amy represents the vocals of the song. The man this song is about represents the instruments of the song. When she says she'll do it acapella, she's removing the instruments from the song (the man from her life). Now, when she says "watch me do it in falsetta" and makes the awful noise, followed by "never mind, bring the beat back", she's saying she's actually better off with him in her life. Side note: Nick Noonan (Amy's now husband) said that the song is about 85% acapella.
