Ponniyin Selvan: 1 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language epic period action film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote it with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan. Produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, it is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan. The film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Indian 1 satelite rights with kalaignar tv . They bought it few months ago . Since red giant is producing Indian 2. Indian 2 rights also will be then .

@@vishnu8490 To your kind information Indian 1 was produced by Sri Surya Movies. Indian 2 is only being produced by Lyca Productions & Red Giant Movies. Moreover Indian 1 was 1st with Raj TV, later it was renewed by Kalaignar in 2009. Sun TV had started renewing old movies which were earlier with other channels. So, after the current satellite rights agreement of Indian 1 gets expired from Kalaignar, Sun TV can renew it. Please comment after knowing the facts properly.

@@vishnu8490 Moreover I didn't request you, I requested only Sun TV & I did only knowing facts & possibilities. Because old movies at 1 point tends to get expired & get renewed by other channels. Even Karagattakkaran which was with Sun TV since 1993 got expired & renewed by some other channels & later got expired from them as well. There are so many examples for this case.

Watched the movie Ponniyin Selvan this past Sunday at a theater in New Jersey. My impressions: - It was a mish-mash. - A great story but that was not told. No punch. No impact of any dialogue. No impact of any song. No character stood out. - Horrible Tamil pronunciation in many of the dialogues! Seriously?? They seriously didn’t know the difference between ழ, ல, and ள? ன and ண? In a movie that deals with the Chola period? Why wasn’t anyone watching? What was the Director doing? - Several strands that were well done. Like melodious music. Some humour. Lots of computer graphics. Beautiful makeup. And so on. But they stayed as separate strands. Didn’t come together to tell a story. - The only song with some lyrics in it … but alas, the lyrics were not clear. Had to Google it to learn the lyrics. Beautiful but didn’t gel! - Why this 3+ hour elongation with elements of the Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean, and other such? - What a Directorial disaster! Why couldn’t Mani Ratnam pull it all together? Looked to me like he was focused on his first name … Spent a lot of money. Felt compelled to recover that money, and make more money. And in the process lost sight of the finer aspects of making a movie. No Ratnam, only money! - Having read the book and having watched several other great movies in the past based on historical novels, I was feeling grateful: Thank God Kalki didn’t live long enough to watch this movie! 🙏🙏

3) Some time back the key major characters in the movie, KARTHICK SHIVAKUMAR, his family (namely his father Shiva Kumar, brother Surya & his wife Jothika, all r into Cinema field too ) said it's better ppl divert their valuable funds towards constructive activities like building of schools or hospitals instead of wasting it on Temples, meaning the Tanjore Periyakovil, and see a co star of Karthick Shivakumar, Mr. Chiyan: Vikram, trying to suggest ppl to cherish the values of the temples and take pride in the great work done by our ancestors and actively discouraging them to not compare it with other such ancient structures in the world like PYRAMIDS in Egypt, So my question is does the director of the movie Mr. Mani Rathnam & key artist like Karthick Shivakumar share the views aired by Mr. Chiyan Vikram too ??! 💁🏻‍♂️

Cuz Indians are smart. Nothing in this world is ever verified. We are just presupposing everything. Even the words that we use is a presupposition. It’s called the epistemological postulate. There are various abstracts and ideologies from this philosophy. So we can generalise the term calling it as, Historical Fiction 😊. We never existed during the actual time and even if we did we never really know what happened.
