I've always felt Karthi was way too underrated as a performer. He's been one of the very few actors in Tamil cinema to consistently try something new with every film. The fact that he made Paruthiveeran and Paiyaa back to back just shows how much of a risk taking and versatile actor he has always been. More power to him. This was a great interview!

BR is one among the few people who are exceptions to it and who go down breaking down the movie from the script level to character level to technical aspects.. Which for a viewer like me is very intellectually stimulating

Usually Tamilians speak only in English( if they know lots more will watch them), only north Indians will be speaking at least a few in Hindi, usually they don’t care about others.

I see that some people are comparing the brothers acting. Both are good in their own ways. Karthi’s paruthiveeran..I know he was nominated a national award for it. He is a good actor. Personally I like Suriya..he is a actor who surprised me over the years. Dude was horrible in the beginning, but everything changed with Nanda. His brilliance is shown when he does a kakka kakka and pithamagan. Two very opposite characters but performed amazingly by Suriya.
Suriya himself said in a recent audio release of viruman that karthi is handsdown a better actor than him..but i feel both are equally good in their spaces.

Karthi is the most loved Tamil actor after rajini and suriya in telugu states. Sad viruman not releasing in telugu. All his films have simultaneous release of telugu versions
It was sad that during the launch event, there was almost equal to no attention towards Karthi! Such an amazing actor being almost outright ignored just cause of Suriya's presence! Its not his or Surya's fault, the audience just do not know how to respect their stars. Crazy blind fans

26:34 The 'softness' in Thozha was probably one of the best parts about it. It felt significantly different from the typical 'mass' and 'macho' and it contributed to making the film feel good. Something KWOOD has been lacking in recent times. Hopefully, Dhanush's Thirutchitrambalam can be a feel good film (like Thozha) that everyone can watch and rewatch again and again
this is the thing with Tamil actors. they are so unassuming as people. if you were to watch a casual interview of karthi in a local Tamil channel you could never guess that he has so much of depth and so much command over English. they never ever adulterate their Tamil with English words and if the intervewer is light never try to impose their intellect on them. hats off to the humility of Tamilians
He is the actor who played different different characters in Tamil movies! He has his unique way of acting! Geniuene to the core!!!! Village or City He his awesome! He is forever chocolate boy!! There are some cheesy interviewers out there, i think this is how they should learn to put a question infront of an actor (or a person from any field) . And look at how humble kathi is. And both question and answers were "to the point", which shows how both of them are dedicated to their respective jobs.

It was a good interview. I hope Lokesh' Kaithi 2 gets an international audience beyond languages. I wish the team had an international crew somehow so that there are more spices mixed into the storyline. The whole idea of Tamil cinema entering into intermixing can extend beyond Tamil onto Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam with that of Hindi. Good wishes to the teams towards that.
It's a one of the nice interview with karthi sir in english. I really enjoy , and i'm a huge fan for him ,like all his character selection is soo enormous and blissfully suits for him! And about bradwaj ranga stunned ur knownldge and ur interst's in cinema ,the way you saw a movie ,and interviewed with actors and directors is really nice as well as "enthusiatic."
Somehow find Karthi more real and raw than his brother Suriya whose reactions seem more forced and artificial!!! Karthi is definitely more versatile and natural!!
Being natural is very easy... Nothing to put effort. Suriya is a method actor trained under his Guru Bala sir. Also Suriya has terrific looks, presence, and varied Range of expressions he can give than any other actor in Tamil cinema after Sivaji, Kamal. Suriya can literally set the screen on fire with his expressions, performance and eyes which is very tough for so called Natural performers. Even character artists does exceptional natural performances and nobody bats an eye for them. But being Suriya & his Versatility, screen presence that he brings on screen is pure goosebumps for most of his films. That's his power and skill !!
@@GV66666 being natural doesnt mean he is being himself. There is obv, difference between thozha/theeran/kaithi - stark differences not just in terms of looks, but overall body language and so on.
@@GV66666 karthi makes it effortless be it humor in the 1st half of paruthiveeran or the very intense climax....with suriya he constantly reminds the audience that it's Suriya and not essentially the character that he plays!!
@@30vidyasrini being too natural & effortless in performance, yes Karthi does. But definitely karthi can't match Suriya's range of expressions, screen presence, power & versatility. Suriya is totally different different league of himself. Suriya can easily be karthi. But vice versa is impossible ! Sivaji, Suriya are like method actors.. they add lot off oomph factor in their performance which makes them special & goosebumps. Suriya has proved in Natural roles, versatile roles , mass roles, experimental roles etc. Suriya is all in one package. All other actors can only be either natural or method acting !
Wanted more n more of this...why did it end so quickly? BR you need to ask much deeper questions to people who can understand range of emotions and articulate well.
This weekend is extremely jam packed with new releases and last week releases also doing so well, even the 6 to 8 screen multiplexes have only 2 or 3 shows enlisted for Viruman here in Kerala.. Many of dual or three screen cinema halls don't have any shows.. 😶
