Damm, what happened to the music industry?? It was ice back in the day but now it's like everything just melted. Female R&B artists such as Karyn, Pebbles, Jody Watley, Stacey Lattisaw, Angela Winbush, Vesta etc were the real deal! Not to mention Chaka, Stephanie Mills, Patti😉 I'm old school classic 'R&B head' everyday allday LOL.
Awesome song! You can tell Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced this joint, it has that sound and it sounds like something Ralph Tresvant or Janet Jackson would sing. 😎
@@ezekielmajor5511 I just Googled it and those guys were the line producers. But Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are also credited. They have a signature production style that is unmistakable even if it's just a few keyboard notes here and there. Sorry for the late response. But we both music lovers so it's all good though.
This song was played a lot on the radio and in the clubs but it really took off when MTV and VH1 put it on heavy rotation along with videos by the other popular female music artists on their channels like Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, Jody Watley, Pebbles, Vanessa Williams, Tracie Spencer, Lisa Lisa & Mariah Carey. They made Karyn White a worldwide music superstar on those TV channels. I got Dance mixes on cassette tapes from Hot 97 New York when it was Dance music station back in the early 90s and they played a lot of Dance Pop music by artists like Karyn White and also by artists like Stevie B, Tracie Spencer, Dino, Taylor Dayne, Expose, New Kids On The Block, Bobby Brown, TKA, Paula Abdul, Ralph Tresvant, New Edition, Father MC, Heavy D, 2 In A Room, MC Hammer, Special Ed, Brother Makes 3, Bell Biv Devoe, Louie Louie, Seduction, The Cover Girls and C&C Music Factory. Real Dance music kid! Yeah baby those were great times! Unforgettable memories. :)
Miss that new jack swing era. Nothing touched me like music from this era does. Keith Sweat, Janet Jackson, Karyn, The System, Bobby Brown, Al B Sure, Boys 2 Men, Color me Badd, LeVert, Jade, Hi 5 etc. What an era I wish never ended.
One of the best parts of this song is the chorus, with Karyn White, Lisa Keith and Terry Lewis contributing. That chorus helps give this song a 1990 and 1991-centric sound.
Early 90s music was still good.. great groups and solo artist .why o why can't music in 2020 be this good it's totally awfully.I grew up on WDAS FM/Power 99 FM in Philly I wouldn't think about taking a long drive listening to either radio station.. might have an accident listening to today's music
Its styled after Alright musically...with a similar verse structure as Love Will Never Do. I can feel Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis(Janet's producers) all over this.
Posh and hot classy lyric executed by karyn white it never gets old its a real and classic karyn white was such a talented female RNB soul musician and very massive thnks for uploading still rocking in 2023
@@adrianharies9849way better then romantic. I hated that song but this song? Absolutely fire 🔥 the lyrics, the voice, the drums and the beat is just perfect.
3:36- 3:42I don't care what nobody say...I think Janet did uncredited backing vocals because she layers her voice in a certain way and I hear it. You have to remember they were all in sessions with Jam and Lewis at the same time...so it's not unthinkable that they had Janet do a reference and just left it in at a low volume. The "ahhh ooh ahhhh" at end is like State of The World and Love Will Never Do.
You are so right we had the best music of all time in the 80s today's music is shit the 80s had more feelings and you could Dance to under stand what they were singing about now SCREAMING is all you can hear
I think Jimmy and Terry had Janet reference the background vocals on this...cuz she layers her vocals in a certain way. And I hear them even if its at a low low low level.
The reasons is no more talents that can write songs and play instruments like Babyface, Terry Lewis and Jimmy, R Kelly. This generation of women can't sing like Karyn White, Whitney, Shirley Murdock,etc...
