Existence and accuracy of historical records depletes fast as you go back in time .. he existed in 726 - 764 AD ..obviously you would not read about him in text book.. most of what you will read in history will be last 500 years may be 700-800 .. there are obviously some exceptions like Ashoka or Mahmoud ghazni .. but detailed account are only available from recent 500-800 years ..
Thank you Lallantop for bringing forward the story of Great and forgotten king Lalitaditya. School history books does not cover the medieval history of India in detail, hence some Great Kings (like Lalitaditya) of Indian subcontinent are not known to us....

लल्लन टॉप जी हमने तो इस महान राजा का नाम आज सुना जबकि मेरी उम्र 72 साल की है । 1857 की प्रथम क्रांति को मैंने प्राइमरी क्लास में 1857 का गदर नाम से पढ़ा है। इतिहास में तो मैने गुलाम वंश तुगलक ,मुगल, खिलजी ही पढ़े है हां शिवाजी को पहाड़ी चूहा अपनी पुस्तकों में पढ़ा है ,तो क्या लल्लन टॉप वाले अभी भी ये विश्वास रखते हैं को जो इतिहास आजादी के बाद पढ़ाया गया वो पूर्वाग्रह से ग्रसित नही था।हमे अपने वास्तविक इतिहास से वंचित करके हमारी संस्कृति को हानि पहुंचाई है ये उस समय की रूलिंग parties का उत्तरदायित्व है की वो इसका प्रायश्चित करें
excellent and very informatic in indian history we never read about king lalitaditya he was a great warrior but there is no reference in indian history to show this show we know abount king laltaditya an dkashmir golden period.
What is also known about the destruction of Martand Temple which is done in systematic way, 1st to put on fire to get extreme hot and then just cool it to use all tools to broke the stones at that moment. The inter channel of water canal/filtration system in the temple's campus still shows the science behind that era.

Availability and accuracy of historical facts go down very fast with time .. most of what you will read in text books will be last 500 years may be 700-800 years .. obviously you would find some exceptions like Samrat Ashok .. but it is no surprise that name of this Kashmiri king is no where in history .. he existed in 724- 760 AD.. very little will be known from this era perhaps only one source and noting to cross validate .. historians have very detailed process to reach certain level of accuracy ( history will never be fully accurate because person recording will bring its bias) before claiming it as historical fact .. I don't think anything before 11th/ 12th century will make to history book that easily .. very low chance .. but cost of doing this research will not justify the outcome
As a kashmiri i would like to highlights few points 1. This temple belongs to budhism not hinduism 2. The oldest religion of kashmir is budhism and hindusim came to kashmir only because of hindu rulers who invaded kashmir time by time . 3. As the majority of people in kashhmir follows islam it doesnt mean we are forced converted . We accept islam through sufism not by forced conversions. 4. We people have proud on our unique culture which is totally different from rest of india . At last i hope we kashmiri have separate nation like before 1947 before illegal occupation by both countries in which we kashmiris muslims , pandits , sikhs , budhs live like brothers ❤
i am from kathua district h shutup ur false propaganda kashmiri hindus and kashmir shaivism are original natives of kashmir 2nd this temple is hindu temple thats why he didnt put any budhist murti here only brahma vishnu shiv idols are there. butshikan broke this mandir because it was hindu mandir . vedas mentioned saraswati river which was way before budha also budha rejected vedas . this means vedas were there before budha jains mention krishna and rama as hindu kings but with diff philposphy jains are older than budhism and doesnt even mention budha in their books .
islamists has started a new propaganda of denying hinduism no hindu ever invaded india . like judaism is father religion of islam and christianity , same goes for vedic faith then jains came out of us, then budhists and last sikhs and all became independent faiths.
