Farooq Abdullah, the doyen of Jammu & Kashmir speaks of the erstwhile state’s history, the present, contemporary politics and how Ram’s name is being distorted for political gain. In an interview with Kapil Sibal in Central Hall for The Wire, he said that with China and Pakistan both on our borders, fighting a war is not be in India’s interest. “Ask Ukraine and Russia”. India’s strength is its diversity. People come to see Chashme Shahi and Shalimar bagh to see different kinds of flowers blooming. India is vast and known for its diversity. Attempts to subjugate it or make everything the same will hurt India.
He spoke of “lies being spread about Pandit Nehru. His sagacity in not going to war and annexing more territories, India was just emerging. Sardar Patel agreed with the route he took. We have to be grateful to Nehru for ensuring that Poonchh and Rajouri are with India else Pakistan would have annexed those.”
“It is a travesty that we, who stood by India, and looked after it in Kashmir are facing the gravest crisis today.”
Abdullah spoke about how Ram was revered by all sections of Indian society including Muslims and his life and message is of inclusion and not division. It is of love and humility, he is not any one person’s but belongs to all. He must not be used to divide India, said Abdullah.

What Abdullah & Sibal are asking us to do is to talk to Pakistan to stop their policy of 'bleeding India with a thousand cuts'. And that is what previous governments, including Vajpayee's coalition government, were doing. They were begging Pakistan to have a negotiated settlement and settle the issue. Indira Gandhi even released 93,000 Pakistani Prisoners of War (PoWs) and 5000 square miles of territory captured in 1971 War to buy Pakistan's and goodwill (in return of nothing, except empty promises). Instead, Pakistan launched nuclear weapons programme and Bhutto pledged to eat grass but fight India for a 1000 years. Vajpayee went to Lahore, and got Kargil in return. What Modi government is saying is "we are an elephant sized country, we can survive a thousand cuts and we have been surviving them for 3 decades now. Let's see if you can survive 5000 cuts." Hahahaha. Now Pakistan begs us to come to dialogue table. That's the difference. Earlier, we used to beg them to talk, now they beg us to talk.

Inflation is at 30-40% and it has broken financial backbone of Pakistani people. Give it another 5-10 years and Pakistanis might beg their Generals to make peace with India. P.S. - Just FYI, 3 years ago, on this very channel, The Wire, Abdullah said that Kashmiris don't feel like Indians. Today he is singing Ram Bhajan. Kapil Sibal fought against Hindu side in Ram Janmabhoomi Case. Today he is applauding him. Difference is clear.

What a fine person he is. I have played Badminton with him a couple of times in 1982 when he was Director Soura Institute of Medical Sciences (under construction). His office used to be in front of SBI branch at Soura ( building owned by his uncle). I was posted there as Probationary Officer. I always cherish these sweet memories. He is a great Indian.

From Afghanistan side, TTP is poking them; and from Iranian side Iranians are launching surgical strike. Ironically, it is Indian border which is most peaceful Pakistani border today. On economic front, they are again facing rout. Papistan went to IMF 23 times after 1989 i.e. on an average of once every one year and 4 months. But it was Modi government which exploited this. They used all of their diplomatic heft to keep Pakistan in FATF Grey List and delay IMF agreement. Today, Pakistan's economy faces a complete rout, inflation is 30-40% and Pakistan Army is stretched thin fighting on multiple fronts. Abdullah's ideas are obsolete. He talks about an impossibility of a war with Pakistan. Modi is trying to defeat them forever without waging war against them, without firing a missile.

THE PLAIN TRUTH TO THE ABDULLAH CLAN: It is Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sandhu, guided by Pandit Birbal Dhar and aided by Raja Gulab Singh Jamwal who played a big role, which eventually led to Kashmir joining with India. Nehru is not liked mainly by the foreign media and their plants in India since he was well educated, intellectual, a true Indian nationalist, a true democrat and honest. It is due to his brilliance and aided by Sheikh Abdullah that Kashmir is part of India today. No person with even a little education and honest can deny that. Never also ignore when India was not powerful it was the loyal USSR-RUSSIA which saw to it that Kashmir stayed with Bharat. Also Mrs. Indira Gandhi was a political genius; except for attacking our temple she made no other major mistake. She fragmented Pakistan in 1971 and China ran out of fright rather than keep their promise of protecting Pakistan, while the USA was baffled. She blasted an advanced nuclear weapon in 1974, brought Sikkim, Siachen and parts of POK back to India. Earlier on in 1967 she had the Chinese thrashed at Nathu La. Thus the founding fathers of modern India were mostly a class apart. Take for example Sardar Pratap Singh Kairon a product of University of California, Berkeley. Farooq in my opinion has a problem he switches sides though he is educated and has experience. He props up tiny Pakistan to get mileage but this will no longer bear fruit since the Indian colossus is militarily superior to a Yehudi backed China. Also Modi is strongly allied to the Yehudis; nothing wrong in that but this has a profound impact on the politics of not only the region but the planet. I was posted in the Valley thus know her and her people and look forward to peace and prosperity of this region of India. Kashmiris are a distinct people in our diverse nation and all genuine Kashmiris are recent converts to Semitic-Islam (a good religion like any other) from Central Asian Aryan Hindus. Thus the Brahmans of Kashmir and Kashmiri Muslims have all in common except religion. In fact the paternal ancestor of Farooq was also a Kashmiri Brahman Pandit Pandit Ragho Ram Kaul. Thus Farooq is a native Kashmiri and not a Semite (Yehudi-Arab); that is in his case an Arab! Let me not sound boastful but I am confident that when India has an effective leader POK shall be liberated. Also the tradition of Kashmiriyat must survive.

The principle of humanity is applicable to humans, not Pakistanis because Pakistanis don't consider themselves as humans. They consider themselves as Muslims first, Shia/Sunni/Ahmadiya second, Barelvi or Deobandi third...and so on. For them humanity comes on 10th or 11th number. We had won 1971 War, fair and square. During 1972 Simla Talks following 1971 War, Indira Gandhi wanted to convert Line of Control into permanent border. Despite being on the winning side, despite having 93,000 Pakistani PoWs in her custody whom she could have handed over to Bangladeshis for war crime trials, despite have captured 5000 square miles of West Pakistani territory, she was willing to part away with PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) and accept LoC as permanent border. Who did not agree? The Pakistani side. All Zulfikar Ali Bhutto promised, in return of 93,000 PoWs and 5000 square miles of Pakistani territory, was to prepare ground for acceptance of LoC to permanent border. What he actually did instead was to start nuclear weapons programme and pledged to eat grass but wage a 1000 years war against India. Vajpayee went to Lahore. What did Pakistan do in return? Plan Kargil. Now what Modi government is saying to Pakistan is "we are an elephant sized country, we can survive a 1000 cuts and we have been surviving them for 3 decades now. Let us see if you can survive 5000 cuts or not." Hahahaha. Result is, Pakistan's borders are lit on all sides. From Afghanistan side, TTP is poking them; and from Iranian side Iranians are launching surgical strike. Ironically, it is Indian border which is most peaceful Pakistani border today. On economic front, they are again facing rout. Papistan went to IMF 23 times after 1989 i.e. on an average of once every one year and 4 months. But it was Modi government which exploited this. Modi government used all of their diplomatic heft to keep Pakistan in FATF Grey List and delay IMF agreement and aid. Modi personally weaned Arabs off Pakistan. Today, Pakistan's economy faces a complete rout, inflation is 30-40% and Pakistan Army is stretched thin fighting on multiple fronts. Abdullah's ideas are obsolete. He talks about an impossibility of a war with Pakistan. Modi is trying to defeat them forever without waging a war against them, without firing a missile.

Both burgers are anti-India. They are talking about talking to Pakistan. Such an outdated obsolete idea. Under previous governments, including Vajpayee's coalition government, India used to beg Pakistan to engage in dialogue. Now Pakistan is begging us for dialogue and we are not giving them relevance. Pakistan has been going to IMF repeatedly (23 times since 1989). It was only Modi who cashed in on the opportunity when it showed up and brought Pakistan on her knees by bringing them to the verge of bankruptcy (by making them stay in FATF Grey List and exercising diplomatic leverage to delay IMF loans). Today, Pakistan is on the verge of bankruptcy and that partly thanks to Modi (their own blunders form the major part). Modi will win this war against Pakistan without firing a missile. In India, we start crying about price-rise when the inflation is 5-6%; in Pakistan the same inflation is 30-40%. Imagine, the condition of their people. Give it another 5-10 years. Their people would be so fed up with the inflationary pressure that they would invite India to take PoK from them or may be all of Pakistan from them. Modi government is answering Pakistan's terror-sponsorship and proxy war policy in the same coin. Today, Pakistan's borders are lit on all 3 sides. 5 वर्ष पूर्व क्या कोई कल्पना भी कर सकता था कि एक दिन ऐसा आएगा कि फारूक अब्दुल्ला राम भजन गायेगा और कपिल सिब्बल ताली बजायेगा (यह वही कपिल सिब्बल है जो कि राम जन्मभूमि केस में मुस्लिम पक्ष का वकील था और हिन्दू पक्ष के विरूद्ध लड़ा था)। और यह वही फारुक अब्दुल्ला है जिसका कश्मीरी हिन्दुओं को कश्मीर से भगाने में योगदान था।

What Abdullah & Sibal are asking us to do is to talk to Pakistan to stop their policy of 'bleeding India with a thousand cuts'. And that is what previous governments, including Vajpayee's coalition government, were doing. They were begging Pakistan to have a negotiated settlement and settle the issue. Indira Gandhi even released 93,000 Pakistani Prisoners of War (PoWs) and 5000 square miles of territory captured in 1971 War to buy Pakistan's and Bhutto's goodwill (in return of nothing, except empty promises). Instead, Pakistan launched nuclear weapons programme and Bhutto pledged to eat grass but fight India for a 1000 years. Vajpayee went to Lahore, and got Kargil in return. What Modi government is saying is "we are an elephant sized country, we can survive a thousand cuts and we have been surviving them for 3 decades now. Let's see if you can survive 5000 cuts."
