Kashmir is for Pandits & Not for Pakistanis: The Newshour Debate (23rd May 2016) 

We left the Kashmir in 1990 because we were warned by a well wisher that our names have come up in the HIT LIST at the local masjid and then 2 rounds were fired at our main door.

I am being a kashmiri pandit, Alas once we were living at awantipura ,but unfortunately people like yasin malik nd othr so called peoples who are responsible for kashmiri panditz exdous in 1989, They destroyed our Hindu temples , shame on such like peoples , Thanks to Indian Army who all the tym supporting kashmiries ,see the sitution of 2014 when flood hited in valley who support them, we Hindus are open hearted does't have fanatic outlook, They reduced kashmiri panditz from 3 lakh 60 thousands ,peoplez became homeless.

Make sure Kashmir is a hindu majority state then secularism will prevail

whoever is blaming BJP, let me tell you. They're trying their best to reoccupy our Jammu & Kashmir, slowly by reintegrating them in the valley. The problem is that, the PDF govt is unfortunate partner and they can't openly say that. Because BJP did not want congress and National Congress there. They prefer a bit in the assembly rather than not being at all. Unfortunate PDF is creating problems for them to work. I wish BJP had a majority in the State, they would had revoked 370.

The ghosts of the October 1947 Kabaili raid into Kashmir, where they did not even spare local Kashmiri muslims, and the 1947 bloodshed in Punjab were always lurking in our minds when the newspaper delivery boy came into our house for tea in 1990 and said that he has seen our names (the entire family) on the HIT LIST in the local masjid. My father disagreed with him and was 100% certain that our family will not be harmed (he was a young boy in 1947 during the Kabaili raid when both Kashmiri muslims and pandits remained together), but he was wrong. Justice NK Ganjoo was shot dead in Nov 1989 (his house was 200 yards from our house), but that was sort of acceptable to Pandits since he was the one who had signed the death penalty of Maqbool Bhat in 1968. Within a couple of days of the warning about the HIT LIST, a Kashmiri Pandit Teacher on a 2-wheeler was shot dead right in front of our house in Srinagar. We saw the militants running away. Within 2 days, 2 rounds were fired towards our main door, narrowly missing our domestic helper. The next day at 5:00am in the morning we left the Valley.

BJP is behaving like frightened Hindu

There are two possible options for resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir Valley, as under: 1. Carve out a separate district in the Kashmir valley, and make it into a securely protected area (with access control) where both Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims can live together. However, the 3 MLA seats for this district would have to be reserved for Kashmiri Pandits. [This option is not under discussion] 2. Make a security type compound area [just like a Cantonment] in the Kashmir valley, which will be self serving for the Kashmiri Pandits, where they can live without fear, with primary education and basic facilities. [This option is under discussion] Option #1 is by far the better option, but NO initiative has been shown by local Kashmiri Muslims to pursue this, mainly because they do not want Kashmiri Pandits to have any political say. As a result, only Option #2 is under discussion, where too the Kashmiri Muslims cite fear of Israeli type settlements; where concentration of Kashmiri Pandits in one area will lead to demand for state Constituent Assembly seats (MLAs). Notwithstanding, the true demand of all Kashmiri Pandits is for a separate territory in the valley (area proportional to Kashmiri Pandit population in the valley as in Jan 1990, like a Union Territory / Autonomous development council which has both Executive and Political authority), and where Kashmiri Muslims would be welcome to live. This territory will have its own security force with Governor as the head. But this sort of an arrangement cannot be achieved as long as Article 370 is in place. Even if we revert to Jan 1990 status and take a figure of 10% of 7,100,000 (71 lakhs) which is the total population in the Kashmir valley in 2018, resettlement of 710,000 (7.1 lakh) Kashmiri Pandits in the valley will not alter the demographics; mainly because only 1/3rd of the Kashmiri Pandit population is likely to opt for resettlement in the Kashmir valley

there should be an open debate..... lets take kashmiri students in the studio to discuss the issue but there should be a limited time for every one to speak freely ...........

I wanna rectify the title badly here as kashmir is for kashmiri pandits and kashmir Muslims.

PAKISTAN HAS NO CLAIM ON KASHMIR. What does the UN resolutions on Kashmir of 1948 say? 1) Pakistan vacate it's forces from J&K(including Gilgit-Baltistan). AND ONLY THEN------ 2) India takes control of all J&K and establishes law & order.India maintains a force to deter any further attacks from Pakistan. AND ONLY THEN-------- 3) A Plebiscite be conducted only after conditions 1 & 2 have been met. The plebiscite be conducted regionally (Separately for Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit & Baltistan). Pakistan signed and agreed to the resolution but then refused to withdraw its forces from POK. When Pakistanis blame India for not holding the plebiscite, they should ask their Govt to fulfill the terms of the resolution and withdraw its army from Kashmir. Pakistan has refused to abide by all agreements it has ever made, Pakistan is a lawless terrorist state
