Why are Muslim Kashmiris so much against the Pundits? I have never understood this hate? Where does this come from?

I'm all for KPs returning back to their homeland, but my only question is will they live happily there even if GOI allocates seperate township or settlement area?? My fear is Muslims in the valley will still see them as their previous generations have - as Indian agents'' and will try to harm them in every ways possible... Unless the pro-Pakistan and pro-separatists sentiments are completely or to large extent defeated, KPs will not be safe or lead a peaceful life. This should be done before facilitating KPs to return home.

If Kashmiri muslims really want Kashmiri Pandits to come back then they should be allowed to go back their respective homes OR any enclaves which government is planning to build. I think enclaves will not take 1% of valley's land. Why to cry so much if just 1% land is going to fellow native Kashmiris? Kashmiri Pandits should be returned to their respective home and be allowed to go any temple to visit anytime and any number of times. Separate enclaves will ensure that anytime in future an attempt of throwing them out of main Kashmir valley mainstream (which happened in 90s), they will have a secured place to settle i.e those enclaves (to be administered by Central govt.). And we will not have to have a 'debate' whether native people of one part of India should return or not. They will ALWAYS have their home homes in their own region.

People speak something on TV or in public but speak something else when in their own community or group either hindus or muslims. Ask from your own heart is it not true? Unemployment is problem all over India. People are shifting from rural or smaller areas to cities, not specific to J&K.

Kashmiri Hindus don't feel safe nor can they have a prosperous life in Kashmir. The older generation can not forget the horror of 90's and the current younger generations are confused. First, the Kashmiri Muslims have to understand and appreciate that Kashmir will never be a part of Pakistan, no matter how much they try. Secondly, the state has to prosper economically, when young boys and girls start going to jobs they won't have time for Jihad. Thirdly, education has to take the front seat. Young, educated Kashmiri Muslims will not participate in any form of religious persecution. Although, it has been 32+ years,, the wounds are still fresh. It will take time, perhaps decades for the Kashmiri Hindus to feel safe in Srinagar, it will take time to heal the wounds of mental trauma.

All this idealistic talk till someone does some mischief again! A bit of scepticism is warranted after such a violent history in the region. That's what people from law and order would mostly say as well, who are primarily tasked to maintain peace. Unfortunately, my fellow youngsters who gather their knowledge from books like me and form lofty ideals don't realize some things until they gather relevant experience. Naivety. There are far bigger and external forces playing in Kashmir, to leave Kashmiris alone to mend their own ways and build a peaceful future in an ideal manner. That's the truth of the matter. Pakistan would cease to exist then to not poke its nose and try to influence local leaders and influencers in some shape or form to create unrest in Kashmir. As long as Kashmiri Muslims don't bring about a cultural change on their own and truly accept non-Muslims like Pandits as their equals, there won't be any long term peace. That's basically the crux of it, without beating around the bush for an hour.
