Good review...I use my camcorder to charge my batteries...So far so good on life of this brand battery...My JVC HD -520 original battery still holding a charge and still works great..I bought a back up battery Kastar and have been pleased...I have 2 other vintage camcorders. One is a mini-dv and the other a Super VHS-C and both use Kastar batteries with no issues...
Next time the pins on the battery come out, put a little bit of 5 minute epoxy on the shaft of the pins before you reinsert them back into the battery. Leave it for 24 hours for a full cure, and those pins will be locked in there tightly forever.
I have both oem and Kastar for my Nikon bodies and my Pentax and although the terminals are nothing like those of your Sony, I have had nothing but good use out of the Kastar batteries. Plenty of power that last with more mh than the oem.
I bought a pair of Kastars and a charger off ebay late last year and they appear to have modified the charger so the pins no longer get stuck in the batteries. I bought them to use in some old Sony Mavica floppy disk cameras and they require sanding to fit, as they are too tight in the battery compartments. Once I got them fitted, they seem to be working fine. They probably won't be durable given the price, but we shall see.
Wow, I was just thinking about buying this brand. But looks like I will just go with the OEM for my Cannon. Thanks for keeping me from wasting my money!
They really aren't horrible. If you get them off Amazon if you happen to get a bad one just get it exchanged. The good ones are still going today. OEM batteries are expensive. I'd recommend taking a chance.
Just junk. I bought a pair three months ago, Both are dead. One swelled up in the camera and I had to pry it out with a knife. Pure garbage to ruin your camera.
