Next we NEED a ”Kastle BBD”! A Kastle format device based on bucket brigade chips to act as a quirky delay/chorus/wtf/etc. effector with a personality! Maybe boosted with a pt2399 based delay/reverb 😊 or perhaps even a ”Kastle 2399”!
That’s an incredible little synth! Arps are so dang fun to play with and love how you brought it to such a small form factor that’s still very hands on!
just ordered mine. so let's see, kastle, kastle drum, kastle arp, og softpop, and bitranger. that is five outputs, and the dude has 5 inputs....... PERFECT!
Love it! Will the firmware be open-source like with the Kastle and Kastle drum? It would be kinda cool to flash my existing Kastle to a Kastle Arp as a sort-of "trial" to decide if I want to buy one!
Just got mine in the mail! Thank you! I love the Kastle series got all three now. Is there any plans for a fourth? No one else is making anything like the stuff you all make.
Hi, great work! is it possible to flash firmware of drum with the new one. Is it only VCO part that needs to be flashed? Thank you - EDIT - nevermind, i can see in the manual, that lfo is same as drum
So I went ahead and checked the manual if I was right, but in the video's and in the manual there's only talk about major chords and there's only the ability to play any variety of a 1-4-5 progression. Are there any plans to make it able to play e.g. minor chords or diminished chords?
You can use relative minor. So lets say you want to compose in Gmin. Set the ARP to Bbmaj. It will play the Bb/Eb/F which are all in Gminor as the b3/b6 and b7.
Yeah but as 1-4-5 are all major, the relative minor workaround, although producing notes that fit the minor scale, would not let you play any minor chord (triad) either. Without an additional root note e.g. external bass, you'd still be stuck in major-chord-town. Deal-breaker for now. Let's hope for an update.
@@marcbangert6139 Thats right I forgot it only does 1-4-5. Obviously still can work but is a bit limited there unless you want that melancholy major triad over minor chord vibe. I suspect Bastle can make some tweaks to that possibly.
🙄Too bad we can't set the triad with any notes, like a minor chord of course or a sus2, m7 etc... it would be much easier and useful to have the K ARP in a song with key changes. Maybe with a future firmware update???? 😇
It is so absurdly funny that you make such genius off-mainstream visionary sonic gear for such a progressive target customer group (modular scene, sonic arts, noise) and under the hood of the arp we find major 1-4-5 the three MOST MAINSTREAM GARDEN VARIETY HARMONIES OF THE 17th to 19th CENTURY.
@@bastlinstruments I did. They weren’t sure. I think they’re waiting on you. I could cancel and buy from you, but there is something to be said of buying from official distributors. You guys deserve to succeed, and I’ve got so many friends who did music then went broke, I’d like the whole world of weirdos to know what freaky stuff you guys are putting out. Also, my Zoom CDR (chorus, delay reverb) pedal is the secret sauce. I put ‘em both thru guitar amps, stereos, headphone amps… with a decent multi band parametric EQ - the possibilities are endless. Anyways, congrats on 10 years. I’ve bought at least 6 of your units. Big fan.
Hello Sub! The chords with static voltage are always major triads (CEG). But once you modulate the chord input it gets multimodal and based on the modulation it can be minor feeling too.
Does it do CV out? Would be very very useful for Synths with no ARP, and the EuroRackers would love it! Would be good if there was a device like this that could trigger a 303, with slides & accents, such a device would do well I think. It would require the ability to change the note length and velocity to trigger different machines. Come to think of it I would love to see a little Bastle Acid Machine!
haha....could also be the other way around. i did use the td-3 sequencer to trigger the kastl drum the other day... quite fun if u tap the randomize function of the sequencer.
useless synth .. with midi software you can do it better and less complicate to handle with external controller......the other kastl product are dope ... this one suck
