+Morgan M I love Kat, she's very beautiful and very talented, and I suffer through watching her show for this reason. 2 Broke Girls is literally the worst TV show I've ever seen. Each episode is 20 minutes of one-liners, most of them horribly unfunny, and the same jokes, that weren't funny the first time, are repeated every episode. The mystery is really why anybody ever thought the show was funny. It was a disaster starting from the first episode, and there has been zero character development or improvement in 5 years. The writers have no clue how to write an interesting storyline (let alone a funny one), or even a consistent one. They display no semblance of wit, and always go for the easiest and most juvenile unsubtle jokes; the characters are difficult to care about; and the whole mess seems like it was written by grade school students.
Ken Hidaka Kat has almost always been typecast into playing sarcastic girls with an attitude, and has very rarely been able to show her acting talent beyond this and her versatility. She hasn't starred in many things that were worthy of talent, and it's largely because of the typecasting, and because she doesn't fit Hollywood's narrow-minded idea of what the public wants to see. In addition, and to her credit, she doesn't mix with the typical Hollywood crowd, preferring to stay at home and leading a quiet life rather than partaking in the usual Hollywood phony and showy life. In this regard, she exists on the fringes of Hollywood society. It is unknown at this time if she will ever star in a vehicle that will ever properly showcase her talents. The fact that the public made 2 Broke Girls into a hit despite its mediocrity does not bode well. It was good for Kat's pocketbook, but that's about all. She is probably one of the most ignored and under-used talents in the business. She is much more charming and entertaining in interviews than she is allowed to be in the roles she plays, and the terrible dialogue she has to contend with on 2 Broke Girls is unfortunate.
Actually I think the show is eccentrically funny. It depends on how you interpret the jokes. For some it's not and some it's terribly funny. But anyway, don't know my conception of fun is right this time, but the show contains jokes, loves and friendships, a little lack of drama, there's less show that can have those things these days.
