This is the first palette like this that I've REALLY wanted! Never would have thought about using the darker shades for eye shadow, but that's a good idea and makes me want it even more! This must have got sent to a lot of beauty gurus here on youtube, but I'm very glad you reviewed it. I trust your opinion the most!

I bought this, and as soon as I used it I wanted to return my Anastasia one. I love the texture so much better and they blend so easily. I love this kit!!!

I have a hard time getting passed the idea that I won't use most of the shades for their intended purpose... I know I can use them as shadows, but for the price, I already have shadows similar! Am I crazy or alone in this feeling? I just can't justify it! I rather use Barcelona Beach from makeup geek or sculpt from Mac, or Taupe blush from NYX or the Morphe Kit bc it's only around $15.... Just me?

It's always funny when "gurus" review products and say it bulky. Like who is throwing a contour kit in their purse throughout the day?! lol.

Flash forward to 2019, I bought this at TJ max for $20

I'm a medium skin tone and I find myself using all 6 shades throughout the different areas of my face. I was skeptical about buying this...I knew the quality would be great but I wasn't sure how much I would actually use but I love it!! I'm so glad I got it

I'm very light skinned and actually use all three shades. I really love her contour pallet. But I recently just ordered the brush and I'm hoping I like it, because you like you said. It is very pricey.

I used to love watching Kat von D:s tattoo shows, so I always get a bit happy when I see that her make up stuff gets really great reviews. I live in Sweden, so these products are difficult to get here, but I'd really love to try out her liquid eyeliner.

It's so hard for me to turn down any contour products but I'm really trying to keep my makeup collection in check lol It looks amazing thought :D

I'm totally loving Kat Von D right now! I just posted a pic to instagram of my most recently purchased items and realized that I got 4 lippies, foundation, and 2 eyeliners from her recently! And I love them all! I currently use the it cosmetics sculpting kit and have for a few years now and it serves its purpose so I won't be getting this one, but that brush is interesting, I wish it was two separate brushes though. I HATE cleaning double ended brushes!

I was debating between the Anastasia vs the Kat Von D and this just put me over! I'm getting this tomorrow, no second thoughts. Thank you as always for an informative and amazing review. Hi Tati! Thank you so much for reviewing that palette, I've been looking for a contour palette that works out for me. Still didn't buy any because I had my eyes on the Smashbox one, but then I saw the Kat Von D one!!! I wish you could show us how you use it in a tutorial or a GRWM. Hugsssssss

I'm in love with this palette and brush! I actually have another brush on the way for my kit-I love it that much! I have a tiny face-so the contour side is perfect for me-and the highlight side distributes powder SO well-not cakey or weird like a few other brushes I have.

I'm of light medium skin-tone and I LOVE this palette!!!! I usually stick to brown matte shadows so this is amazing to me!! I use it for more than just contour

I think these kits are great if you're an MUA or love collecting makeup but for most people they should bring out kits in Light, Medium and Dark separately in my opinion. This would take out the bulk and save people so much money! Sleek do great contour kits for this :)

I used this palette for my entire look today, on my eyes and to sculpt and bronze my face, I would definitely take this as an all in one palette for travel too, just add a blush.

Tati, how can we store double ended brushes? Rather than just in a little basket?? Any cut ideas to display them or have easy access on the vanity? Hmmm, Wednesday idea!! Makeup storage an organization ideas!

I couldn't stop staring at your skin, it's so glowy and I'm jealous! However, I personally wasn't a fan of this palette and exchanged it for the new Marc Jacobs duo (which is almost the same colors as the middle shades) and love it. I think his powders are silkier, you get tons more product in your actual shade, and the compact is gorgeous and sleek.

Tati! I would love love love to see you do a video on your everyday hair styling routine. I really struggle styling my second day hair, and yours always looks perfect!!! Do you rinse it and then dry it and then dry shampoo it? Or do you just wake up the next day and fix it to the way you like it? It's the top part of my head that I struggle with. Frizzy-ness, a giant bump somewhere. I would love to see how you do your hair because I always think your hair looks amazing!!!

This is a great review. I have this palette and have been really happy with it. Fair price, good product. It's a winner. I don't have the brush that goes with the palette. I just use a Elf $3 blush brush b/c it's the perfect size and cheap.

You should try her powder blushes ... They blend like a dream and stay true all day. I especially like Truth, Love Song and Por Vida.

I usually use the abh contour kit and sometimes it's quite streaky! My boyfriends currently in America and I got him to get me the eye contour palette but he bought me this instead..best mistake he's ever made haha ,so excited.

I'd like to see your thoughts on the two Smashbox contour kits as well as the Anastasia one- maybe all in one video?

great review...I have this pallet and love it....Didn't think to use the powder as an eyeshadow. Can also use as under eyebrow and perhaps brows if you are very fair.

I love using contour kits for shadows, that's what I do with the Anastasia contour kits!

I love Kat Von D! I want that palette so bad but I can't justify buying it yet because I already have too many contour palettes that I need to use up! haha ahhhh the struggles of having a makeup addiction!!!!!!!! :P

As you said its bulky, I think they should've released individual sets as well as the complete set. Not everyone will want all three highlights and contour colours. As for using it as eyeshadows, well ..only yesterday you tested some eyeshadows that didn't blend well..so no guarantee these would, or that they would last, or they might crease.. and as they aren't made to be eye shadow you can't grumble .. :-/

This kit is perfect for fair/med skin tones. Unfortunately for us WOC no, there are 2 new kits I am trying that work perfectly *fingers crossed* Thanks Tati for the review!

I love Kat Von D makeup. Her tattoo liner is my holy grail eyeliner and I had gotten her Monarch palette a little while ago and love the (tiny) death out of that thing! Thank you for reviewing this palette because I was on the fence about it, but now it's on my wishlist. :) I just have to say, Tati, I watch alot of the gurus here on youtube and I find it hard to keep watching the same ones all the time because (like, religiously watching their newest video as soon as it comes out) I feel like after a while I'm not really learning anything new. Not to say that they are boring or anything negative like that, but I consider myself to still be a noob at makeup. I can honestly say that whenever my phone tells me that you've put out a new video it doesn't matter where I am, I'm watching it! You always have something new and interesting to talk about. My favorites are Tip Tuesdays and Hot or Not Thursdays. :) I just get so much inspiration and knowledge from you. Thank you!!!!!!!!

I have to re-watch your video because I just stared at your hair the whole time! Absolutely stunning! -- you and your hair lol

I thought that this kit was much better than the ABH palette for sure! Except I loved the banana shade in that one for under eye setting which the KVD palette isn't excellent for. I have dry skin but I moisturizer like crazy around my eye area and face before any makeup application, and despite that, I found the highlighting shades didn't perform well for me under the eyes. It was cakey and not as smooth looking as they feel when swatched. The contour shades are great for blending purposes and better shades for my skin tone than the ABH palette but all in all, I ended up returning both palettes and have settled on the Smashbox one. It's more compact, I like the shades a tad bit more as well. The KVD brush is good, but for the price, I want to be picking up that brush and excited to use it every day and I just wasn't. Partly due to my big brush collection, and partly due to the fact that I wanted it to be a little more dense. It's good to use for other things besides the intended purpose and it is dual-ended so that's a plus. I returned the brush too because I just have other ones that I prefer more, but I would still recommend it. Both items are very good. I just have to justify spending that amount of money on both by being obsessed enough to use them all the time and frankly for me, Hoola works better for my skin tone, and so does the Sephora brand bronzer in Los Cabos.
