So good instruction, can´t imagine how good do you teach live. I have a cousin in New York so if I visit one day I´ll pass to train at your dojo. I am more into BJJ now as is way more popular in my region and judo has lost classes but I started in judo and always like to keep learning.
In wrestling we call this the fireman’s carry and it’s one of my go to moves, I really like the variations and the details in this vid, this is going to help elevate my game.
@@deviljon Maybe Kano learnt it from wrestling. But Kata-Guruma is the one of oldest techniques in Jujutsu. It can kill someone by lift highly and throw with full force. Yeah, I'm sure this technique is original.
@@landenjones9374 But in that day, i mean really ancient one like Takenouchi Ryu was modern academy. Japan was a close country, mate. Actually, Japan didn’t even exist. So I guarantee they didn’t know Pankration.
@@isaaczucker8583 because jujitsu originated from wrestling for the simple fact it has many move from wrestling such as wrestling takedowns wrestling pins wrestling holds and even joint locks and chokes ect from catch wrestling so most jujitsu moves or at least brazilian jujitsu and gracie jujitsu and I assume that's the type of jujitsu were talking about originated from wrestling or at least some style/form of wrestling which is why wrestlers do so well if they transition to jujitsu
Overall the way you go in with the grip is perfect, the only thing to point out is that the knees should always be together when you drop them on the ground, not separated. That way you can elevate the weight of the opponent from left to right (or right to left) a lot more easy. Just try it with knees together.
I did half of a kata guruma yesterday when a friend of mine showed me a way she can do a head lock and it worked but I just turned it into a kata guruma but didn't flip her so it was just a headlock turned into a firemans carry and it's strange because I didn't even know of this judo move when I did it
