A compilation of 50 openings of my Katana 135 sqft, that I used between 2014/2015. Wingload: 1,5 Average Experience: 400 / 500 jumps More infos about the canopy: www.performancedesigns.com/products/katana/
Seems like a pretty valid presentation of katana openings. I fly a katana 135 with a 1,65wl. Opens like shit flys like a dream. It opens a bit better and flys even better after having put on a pd rds system.
"Opens like shit flys like a dream" - Perfect description, hahah! After this one, I did 200 jumps on a Katana 120, and some jumps on a 107 when I was already flying a Velo 103... the openings on Katanas with bigger wingloads are much better!
Jeferson Costa ok. Thought so. Thank you. Any tips you would give to a new katana flyer? 250 jumps, loading a 135 at 1.4. Previously flying a s2 150 and a stiletto 135
@@bradamberley6356 be aware on openings, hahah! On your average experience, we used to not being so simetrical and really stable on deployment. After 600 jumps on Katanas, I learned how important is the body position at this moment, it was my school before flying a Velocity. Let the canopy opens and fly... look to the horizon at openings, control your hips. I tried for so many times to pull the risers, trying to control the openings, but doing it at the beggining of your opening, will only get it worse.
Hahah, yes! Lots of shitty openings... but probably due to my lack of experience at the time. I started to fly this canopy with 300 jumps (yes, it was wrong!), and did around 250 with it. My W.L was 1,57.
@@jefe_costa nice... its good to have some people to gave me some opinions so i dont have to use my skin to prove it , did you have to cutaway sometimes?
