With how much chronos that was pumping through their blood since they were kid I wouldn’t be surprised that this slow down their aging

perhaps aging itself is slowed, but the number is still the number. zero being 22 years old does not mean he biologically ought to be 22, it means he has been alive for 22 years. the 28 years he mentioned could only have come from his distorted sense of time.

That font is used only twice in the main game and it’s different from the rest of the dialogues so I don’t think it’s far-fetched

I personally think it's zero (or a part of him) talking directly to the player. The game does an amazing job of fusing zero's perspective to the player's, to the point where I think the most accurate depiction of zero *is* the player themselves, as everything zero experiences and thinks is the same as the player. The game also directly acknowledges the player sometimes, like how during the psychotherapy fight, the psychiatrist turns his attention away from zero and directly at the player, speaking to them through zero's thoughts. I personally think that the line "I know what comes next, I need to ask you a favour" is asking the player to choose the golden mask of life, as the things we see next are zero suffering from withdrawal, and his murder of the psychiatrist aswell as his indirect murder of the girl. Zero looking at his hands in horror of what he's done expresses his fear of what he's done or could do, as this vision is more of a premonition induced by chronos' precognition

The veterans in the bar says "The war ended 7 years ago", the church scene says "29 years in that godforsaken jungle", so the war lasted 29 years and ended 7 years ago, or in other words, it started 29+7 or 36 years ago. I don't see any conflict here.

@@ordinaryshiba the war ended seven years prior, that can be confirmed by the veterans, but the "28 years" is followed by the mention that their perception of time isn't consistent (the week feeling like a year bit). at least this was what i understood. i can understand the 36 years but wouldn't zero be much older then?

@@SpoonsCourage Zero was born right around the time that the null project starts (because he is the 0th gamma null subject). Because there wouldn't a null project if there isn't a war, the project probably starts in the middle of the war. Note: If this interpretation is true, then that would mean the speaker in the church scene isn't zero.

@@ordinaryshiba zero couldn’t have been born around then since he was in the war. the null project wasn’t a result of the war but it resulted in the end of war. And I don’t believe it’s zero speaking during the church scene, that’s why I called them “the speaker” instead since I can’t confirm nor deny either interpretation. But the way it’s phrased and directed, as well as the words themselves makes me believe it’s not zero. my guess is someone close enough to zero that it’d be seen as important.

@@SpoonsCourage The null project can both be the the result of the war and lead to the end of the war at the same time, just like the atom bomb is a result of ww2 and also ended ww2.

I originally thought that too when the cop and neighbor said there was no girl. But the final scene with comedy and tragedy make me think shes real.

@@RandomPerson-th1pu Comedy and Tragedy were very clearly his two neighbors that somehow came back as his imagination, maybe his guilt or something.

zero is a very very unreliable narrator. I think that the girl, as well as comedy and tragedy, are all fragments of his mind or represent something in his internal conflict. the chinatown cutscene with comedy and tragedy could just represent him trying to make the decision between life and death. some of their dialogue reflects this. the girl could represent some part of him that tries to remain innocent or sane. you could argue that she does many things that could only be done by a real person, but let's remember; it's not uncommon that time simply skips and acts weird, zero sometimes doesn't even know what's going on because of it. the girl could be his mind's attempt at explaining and rationalizing those skips and unexplained happenings. zero could simply be doing things like making breakfast and finding v's tape on his own, but remembering it differently.
