it hasn't changed since before the dawn , it would be so be great to hear her sing again. I bet she can still sing surely she could release a new album or EP.
@@jeframp3805 Hmm it’s not right to want another human being to do what you desire them to It’s her life she’s done enough she’s already been famous before generations were born sure we would love more but ultimately it is her choice
She’s so humble, and I’m excited by how excited she is. She never chased a sound, or complied to popular standards - and look, this resurgence. She’s a real inspiration to me.
I got chills just hearing her speak again. I can't imagine the goosebumps if she ever walked on stage again. Imagine Glastonbury. Imagine the feels. Oh my.
@@michaelhawkins7389 it's only scary if you are not enjoying the now. We all will get older. But each day we can bring something beautiful to the world if we choose to do so.
Kate was and is a pioneer for women in the alternative pop music scene and i'm so glad that her music is being brought to a wider audience! Her influence can be heard in the music of so many other artists like Tori Amos, Bjork, Florence Welch, and so many more. It's so lovely to hear her voice again, she exudes such warmth, creativity, kindness, and humbleness when she speaks. What a GODDESS! ❤️
She sounds shy and nervous, and pretty much wanting to be someone in the background now. I think she did her incredible work, and is just happy now to be a mum and at home in her garden. She deserves it.
Have been a dedicated fan/follower of Kate Bush for over 40 years - and she certainly did make a difference in my life! Now another generation has the same opportunity. I wish I could have seen her live concerts! Welcome back Kate!
@@chelseapoet3664 She's also her own greatest critic. Perfectionists are like that. Never completely happy with their own work. As Kate once said, "I reach (a level) of satisfaction".
OMG I love her so much. Since my dad brought home Hounds of Love when I was 9 through to today. I absolutely respect her need for privacy but I do need more Kate in my life somehow.
Yes an absolute English rose! Like all other 80s teenagers living in the UK, I'm glad my grandchildren now appreciate her music. This Woman's Work and Moments of Pleasure are my favourites!
@@paddyandhisguitar2831 Yes her musical talent, like the Beatles, is undoubtedly Irish! They write the most haunting music in the world. Her upbringing and half her heritage is English though.
@@danwhite3002 Her mother liked to amateur Irish dance...it was her English father who played the piano and was musical. Personally I think her talent is her own.
She's one of the few old stars who didn't bitter and become arrogant with age. She has a cutting edge and nuanced perspective on everything, and she's very humble.
One of the most creative people on this planet. I have been moved to tears by her music for the last 40 years. I would give my right arm to be able to tell her that face to face. Thank you so much Kate!
She is incredible and multi talented. People should really listen to her first album. I feel it’s her rawest and purest form. The kick inside! I was so fortunate to have her in my life as a child of the late 70s and 80s. She wove her magic into my soul. Thoughtful, inspirational and cutting edge she truly one of Englands most talented artist.
@@johnr8212 It's been fascinating to witness the evolution of her sound. I have every album and the variations in style sometimes make it hard to believe you're listening to the same woman.
RRFOF..... it's a total joke, couldn't care less, means absolutely zero to me and I'm actually shocked it means anything to anyone. Art isn't about award ceremonies... silly.
I think she has a good shot now. She's been nominated 3 or 4 times, but I think the very American voting body were just not familiar with her work. She now has her first American top 5 hit. Also, the Rock Hall put more women in this year than ever before. Yes, the Hall is a joke, but they create massive exposure for artists through the annual televised event, but also the millions of people that visit the museum every year. It matters!
For those of you have just discovered the force of nature that is Kate Bush, the best advice is to dive deep. "Running Up That Hill" is brilliant, but it's just one song off of her incredible masterwork, "Hounds of Love", which is just one of her legendary albums in a discography that is absolutely mind blowing in its depth and breadth. There has really never been and will likely never be another artist like her. Kate transcends being merely a pop artist, she's an auteur of her artistic vision, the music, writing, producing, dance, movement, videos, album covers, it's a whole body of work that is a joy to discover. She's one of the few artists whose total output is hers, not a product of record companies, A&R and producers. Indulge.
I'm nearly 69 now, and have had so much enjoyment over the years listening to Kate's music. It's something you just come back to time and time again and think "Wow, haven't heard that for ages..and you just go through your whole Kate Bush collection..mine is on vinyl!) My advice to new listeners? Go through ALL of her work. Aerial is brilliant too! Also, a BIG tahnk you to Dave Gilmour who was responsible for discovering her, and the whole Bush family for their support and input into her career. Just LOVE your work, Kate, if you're reading this. XXXX
My eight year old asked to listen to Kate Bush " on repeat" whilst having a bath a couple of months back, and it was just before things blew up with her song on Stranger Things. Gotta love him!
I have enjoyed her music from the first time I heard her when I was a teenager. She deserves to be celebrated! So much talent, humility, compassion, and originality. No one can compare to her. She is pure magic and creativity. Thank you Kate for what you have created for us. You have touched many hearts around the world. X
Oh, I just love Kate's warmth and sincerity, so apparent in her speaking voice in this interview as well! What an incredible artist. As a professional musician, I am in awe of her talent. She is, to me, simply sublime♥
At 61 I grew up with Kate Bush's music ,her unique style and mystique always captured me 🎶 it's great this track has come to the forefront for the younger generation to hear and enjoy all her hits too 🎶👍
Kate Bush, a lady with talent and humility in equal measure. To be so gracious to be thankful for the opportunity to be interviewed is incredible, given her status. What a beautiful human Kate is, one who has shared so much of her soul with us through the wonder of her music and dance. As a 55 year old, I’ll forever be thankful for her gift to us all.
You cannot go wrong with a bit of gardening! I first heard Kate in the 6th form common room, some students were playing Wuthering Heights there was complete silence when it was played, I have been hooked on her music ever since.
For someone who is a one of a kind creative genius, Kate Bush is so down to earth. In this day and age it's unimaginable how someone of her calibre can be so unaffected. Humble doesn't even cover it.
I'm happy that Kate has gotten some new recognition. I bought Ariel about house cleaning and such and could not get into it. But from Dreaming, (And all her videos) through Red Shoes I loved her work. She is well deserving. And her coming back LIVE in 2014 was very hard for her but I am sure gave her a contented and well-loved feeling. Wish I was there. Great for you Kate. We are like a week apart in age.
I'm proud of what she did. I first heard Wuthering Heights when I was seven and I liked it so much. I never bought the single, until 1990, when I bought The Whole Story. There is Tori Amos, Bjork, the list goes on for other female singers. She has been an inspiration. Thanks Kate.
I'm a teenager but I've been listening to her music for a few years now. Kate is such an inspiration, and a pure genius. her voice is so unique, so passionate, just like her lyrics. thank you, Kate, as someone who writes a lot, you inspire me.
I heard this on the day it was released. After ten minutes I realized I was grinning all along. A massive smile listening to Kate's words. She is so rare, it was a delight
I heard it live and teared up. Just her coming on like that and thanking everyone. It was moving. Why? I can only think she has touched so many of us and yet she has never chased success. She was just Kate being herself
This is really super, what a treat! Yes we need Kate at number one all summer. I've been a fan forever... I find her music never dates because she didn't follow any trend. She built a studio and created the best album ever in 1985, and it has stayed so fresh. Seeing her in 2014 was... well it was too incredible for words really. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next - Kate we need a new album :D
I was at one of the 2014 shows and it was like nothing I’d ever seen before. Astounding and haunting. Well worth the plane ticket from the states to see it!
thats the one they very thing about kate that she does her own thing and dosn,t go with the trend .. the fact that she wasa first to do arts ,books theater etc in pop,one ofthe best in the business
Hi to Kate Bush from Newfoundland Canada. I was introduced to Kate last year from a English friend. I have downloaded all her Music from RU-vid I can find. I just love her voice and her videos.
What a talent, and truly delighted more ears get to hear her voice and music. This is one of my favourite songs ever. What a talent and well deserved. Well done Kate.
The whole world “has gone mad” in love with you! I have been a huge fan for years, It’s wonderful she’s getting introduced to a new generation - she’s beautiful and timeless.
I've been listening to the wonderful Kate Bush since the 80s and now my kids are listening to her. What a unique and fantastic voice! Kate, we need a concert now! How great would that be for your "old"fans xx 😘
Thank you for posting this..I saw yesterday it was supposed to happen and hoped someone would post it here..I have been following her web site posts during this but it was nice to hear her talk about it.she is always quite humble, but she has meant a lot to a lot of us over the years., it is wonderful to see this happening for her.
I have been searching everywhere for an interview and so glad I finally found it! She sounds so positive, youthful, peaceful and just so amazing! Thanks for an amazing interview!
Love Kate...such an incredible woman! My go-to when I need a positive vibe. Played Running Up That Hill for my 10 year old daughter and now she's singing the song while walking around the house:)
As humble as ever, wonderful women, wonderful artist. I am so glad I supported your music all those years and so happy that people’s realize the type of artist you are now which is usually once an artist leave this world... well done Kate and looking forward to the Tour 😊👍🤞
Kate is such a dear beloved part of my life story since I first heard Love and Anger on 120 Minutes when I was a teen. Hearing her today lifts my tired heart!! I believe her surge is bringing more people together in new ways. I was so privileged to have been at one of her shows in London recently and absolutely felt solid with everyone in that room in our respect and admiration for her and her work. That was a high moment of my lifetime. I am a social worker and I lead groups for vulnerable young women in recovery with so much trauma history. One of my younger group members shared yesterday she has become a Kate Bush fan through Stranger Things. Thank you for this interview. Well done, Emma.
tim Holbert A little more womanly nowadays. As a twenty year old in 1978, she sounded so childlike and innocent. At the same time, being wise beyond her years. Very special.
Clever very clever Duffy brothers picking this song of Kates to go with the scene with Max,absolutely outstanding 👏. And more to the fact how the Duffer brothers introduced similar scenes throughout out S.T from other films,of course the goonies, stand by me,Carrie,E.T,third encounters, and so many more, sooo love this series.
I remember in the early 2010s about 2013 I had my mother's old ipod and for the first time I heard kate bushes first album the kick inside it was truly mind opening and now I have almost every kate bush song and album
Nobody comes close to Kate Bush. It's much more than artists who made a good tune, or sang well. it's a capture of so many emotions, thoughts about life, memories, expression, art, dance, poetry. Did only what a woman could do, really waved that flag for the female sex in music, because men cannot reach these places. Very cool, such an impressive woman, cannot help but fall for her ! Majestic
Thanks for the wonderful interview. I am 72 and from the U.S. but did not discover Kate Bush until Stranger Things. Watched a Rick Beato review of Running Up That Hill and about her incredible talent. So glad for you to be able to get her to speak with you (and us). Thanks again.
So very well deserved, Kate! I would say that MANY of us, who grew up during that era, know her music because of Los Angeles' KROQ and, more recently, via Sirius XMs 1st Wave, which has had that particular track in regular rotation for years. Not surprising, given how many KROQ DJs are spinning music on 1st Wave!
