Kate, Thank you for taking the time to document the making of your beautiful work. You are an inspiration to me. I love your work and can't wait to see more.
Hi Kate Love your work takes guts to create large pieces. At the course I am people learn to coil but alwas thin and small I want to show them this video but because it is in Holland I would like to subtilte this. Can I find a subtitled version?
A beautifully put together film and inspirational sharing of your working thoughts. I teach pottery at an adult education co-operative in Bristol UK called The Bristol Folk House and am organising an evening of instructive RU-vid clips on potters and pottery for our students. This is a one off, non-profit event on 1st March 2013 and I would like to include this clip. Would you have any objection to us showing this in public?
Her detail work is amazing, but her glazes are butt ugly. She should get someone who has as much talent at glazing as she has at creating to partner with her. Beautiful detail work.
...in the eye of the beholder. Color combos are not ugly but just combinations of chemistry in flux on pots/sculpture. However, sometimes a form can really be attractive to one while the color can either lift or break the form. If one finds her forms beautiful and sensuous then the color cannot really be that ugly, as there is the adage 'color before form' or 'color over form' which would make or break the entire piece. But of course you have the right to state your opinion. :-) Rita
I feel that the opinion on her glazes is subjective. Her glazes have evolved and over her career from her bright colourful glazes to her obsession crystalline glazes. What comes out of the kiln can never be 100% predicted especially to get the crystal. Elaine out of curiosity how do feel Malone's work should be glazed?
