As an Aussie, may I say that we'd love to have you visit. You have lots of fans here. Oh and, Kate, not everyone hates ibises. We may not want them in our bird feeders (they'd eat the lot in one gulp), but most people I know love all our native birds.

Australian here. Love the Ibis. Only bogans call ibis "bin chickens". Fun fact: Baby ibis have a beautiful trilling call to their parents for food. It's one of the loveliest sounds you could ever hear. 🐤🎶👂

My favorite skit on SNL that Kate’s in, is her Alien abduction tales. I have a KIA Soul and I want a front license plate with her saying something fun from her skit. The souls kind of are like space ship looking. I so enjoy watching her

As a Queenslander living in Vic now most of my life I love the Bin chicken. The issue is not the bird, it's the cheap crappy bins that people use that are easy to get into. In Vic it'd be a fox or a cat. And yeah, 'bees dick' is a thing elsewhere too

She didn't mention their constant habit of scavenging the food off outdoor tables, either. They'll try it right in front of you and God help any small child without an alert adult immediately present, cause they don't see them as a threat so they'll take the food straight off their plates and scare the heck out of them. And they're big buggers. It's painful watching tourists try to feed them. They'll even ignore warning signs.

It was filmed within this week, because Joe and Carol just premiered the other day. Unfortunately the floods in Australia are not a known news item in America. I only have heard about it through a friend who moved here from Brisbane.

I've been teaching ESL for almost 25 years now and have worked with several 'Stralians.' From my experience they are very lazy in their pronunciation. (Me, I have had to speak slowly, and clearly for decades). My niece is one though and came to visit me before the pandemic. She's telling me about her trip and says, "Wa flin on the plin un..." and at that point I stopped her. Can you guess what she said? Translation: We were flying on the plane and... Some of my students go Stralia, come back and go directly to me to complain of a long list of vocabulary that I never taught them. So, thanks Stralia. Gudnya!

Actually I think they are called bin chickens because the local Vietnamese sometimes eat them :). We just had a local court case in Waverley NSW where the accused was a Vietnamise bloke who caught one (they are protected in NSW but not in Queensland).
