My head is spinning … you’ve shown so much of what I love to do as well. I’ve been crocheting (when you say it, it sounds lovely), embroidering, sewing (machine), making cards, junk journals and art journals, and only since about last November, have been doing the slow stitching, Kantha, Boro, and even 4 rice bags and 2 Kawandi’s. I love the way you can incorporate so many different things into the slow stitching I only now had your video pop up and promptly subscribed. Can’t wait to see what else is in store. One thing that bothered me, though … when you say others’ work is “so much better than mine” … everyone has their own ticks and tricks and methods … you’ve got lovely work, don’t compare yourselves to others. ❤❤❤

It’s so lovely to see that there are other multi crafters out there . I spin, dye, knit , crochet and embroider too . I also collect and restore antique and vintage sewing machines. I started to crochet the Sophie’s Universe blanket a few years back but I lost track of where I was with that.🙄🤣 . I learned crochet when I was very young by my great auntie Lizzie . Sewing , quilting and embroidery I learnt from my mother, although she did everything beautifully and was a member of various guilds. I’m a bit more rustic with my approach, I’ll never forget the way mum would peer down her nose over her glasses at my attempts ! 🤣 😊

I'm glad I came across you today,as I have been beating myself up lately & feeling quite low about having so many projects on the go,unfinished, but after watching you, I feel okay with it now thankyou, thankyou,THANK you 😍😍 Your work is so lovely xxx So I have set myself a goal,over the next week to go through a number of storage boxes with unfinished things & put them all into one place, & hopefully complete some & happily work on others as you do xXxX I have heard Rachel & Sarah talk about The Sewing Basket, I'v googled it & it is 3 hours drive from me, I am determined to get there one day 🤞🤞🤞 Our local Vinnies is ridiculously expensive, I don't shop or donate there anymore !! Sallies is great, I volunteered there for 14 years until last year, had to give up due to ongoing medical problems ... that's life !!! Oh wow, Kate, such beautiful crochet and slow stitch pieces! You are very talented and inspirational. I’ve got to try the slow stitch, it looks like so much fun and relaxing. This is new to me. I love that it doesn’t have to be precise piecing and stitching.

What glorious splashes of colour and the talent of you Kate....I am forever thankful I clicked on your channel barely more than a week ago and how your tutorials have changed my life with regards to learning new skills and ways to do these crafts. I crochet as well as slow stitch, both highly happy places for me. As I've been watching I slow stitch meditation scrolls , basically kantha on lengths of fabric in any colour thread, using the Invisible baste stitch which makes tiny stitches on the top and the large stitch on the underside. It's just such a relaxing calming way to stitch while listening to you. Itching to get busy with so many more projects and again I thank you for what you share on your channel....all of it divinely amazing and oh so inspiring. 💗

Hi Kate, a creative jack of all trades🤭 It is also sometimes a disadvantage that we like so much. I only find real peace when I sleep, my head and hands are always busy. What an explosion of color in this video. Nice projects you are working on. It's great that you can work on different things using the same technique, I can't do that, I can manage 1 project of each. MIXED. MEDIA ARTIST, and a raising Utube star is what you are! I also love crochet, hand stitching, and now I’m learning embroidery too with you. I can craft along and follow what you are doing easily, great camera angle thanks. The patches you put onto your work looked odd until you stitched them on, then magically they blended right in. Questions☝️Do you use only cotton to crochet with, not acrylic or wool?. Could you please show each crochet stitch separately like you did the chain. Double and triple please, and progress to those flower squares, and how to join squares please. 👏👏 Thank you Kate so much.
O Marlene - I love that we are on this journey together! And we really do seem to have so much in common - such a blessing! This was such a random video (again nervous as hadn't shared this sort of thing before), but it does seem like people would like to know more re the crochet. So I think I might do some crotchet tuts, as I would love to pass on to next generation. I tend to use everything(including acrylic and wool) for my crochet and knitting - you ought to see my cupboard!!! But in terms of the latest rugs and bags, I have been using cotton, mostly for the colours and the way that it highlights the stitching. Hi Kate, Kathy here, another Aussie, Queenslander actually. Where are you based? NSW? I went to the sewing basket last year, when I came down for the Crochet Guild Australia Conference in Sydney. The conference is in Vic this year, hoping it comes back to Qld next yr. As for RU-vid, well I’m a bit of a scaredy cat. I get to the stage I think I’ll do it then I hear one of my fave RU-vidrs horror story and then I back off again.

I hope it's OK to encourage you to try....I was encouraged by Rachel from Roxy Creations, to share the process. She was so kind and encouraging that I feel it's now my mission to help others do it like me. Rachel's advice was "just do you" and turn the camera on when you are making! If you stay around to watch some of my videos, you will see that I'm almost like a blooper show - so so many mistakes and messy bits! But all I have received back is kindness and joy. Plus size clothing items for me, jumpers and cardis for the grandies, toys for the grandies, shawls, scarves, hats and beanies, blankets, bags etc etc. I also knit, spin, weave, dye, embroider (stitch), machine sew, quilt and patchwork. Also I teach sewing, knit and crochet. Anything to keep me busy really.
